What are you on about Rhodes you buffoon! At any "normal" non league club you do whatever is required to help the club. I volunteered to help the reserves as they needed it and had the ability to get to Mursley. Have you ever been there?

Actually I also went with our Reserves on Saturday to The 61FC, I was hoping AWK would be there but I think he went with their First Team to watch them get beaten 7-0 at White Ensign in the Anagram Records Trophy

Was that your first visit to The 61FC?

Yes it was and I was very impressed with their set up, the ground is small and fairly basic but there is a lot of scope for improvement and they have excellent bar and hospitality facilities. Can you remember why they aren't able to instal floodlights as there appears to be plenty of room to do so around the pitch.

I don't know - maybe AWK can tell us why. It's probably that the houses on the side opposite the clubhouse are too close and the residents would object.

Yes that could be it I suppose but there's ways and means, I'm sure the residents can be talked round or planning permission secured if the Club were determined enough

The club were in talks with the council over installing floodlights about three seasons ago but decided that with the new regulations that were to come in then it wasn't going to be worth the expense.

AWK - Did you get the weighty tome I left behind the bar for you or haven't you been to the ground this week, they said that you had probably gone to White Ensign on Saturday

You are an expert in this are you? Have you ever been involved in trying to get clearance for floodlights?

I haven't been to the ground yet Rhodes so I look forward to picking up your programme. You mentioned earlier that you were restricted to 20 pages for the New Bradwell match, is their any reason for this as I know how much you like to make your programmes as big as possible.

Horace - Well I do know what is involved, all I'm saying is that if The 61FC want floodlights badly enough in order to progress the Club then they shouldn't have too much difficulty in getting them. Brache Sparta is just down the road and they have floodlights in a similar residential area.

Have you got any scores on the doors through yet from tonights games.

Choice or forced? Did the Committee meet and say something like "First game in our new home ground Saturday, need to show off and make a fuss of those who attend, including any dignataries. Better send our biggest embarrassment as far away as possible"?
