The October edition of When Saturday Comes featured an article on the crisis at Leeds United. The piece highlighted the pioneering work at Enfield Town as an example that Leeds United fans could consider emulating. Here’s a snippet from the magazine’s article entitled ‘Finding a Voice’

They paved the way first for AFC Wimbledon and also FC United of Manchester and the (short lived) AFC Barnsley.”

 

It’s great to see that WSC recognises Enfield Town as the major influence for the set-up of AFC Wimbledon. All too often the sports papers and media portray AFC Wimbledon as the first true club to be set up and run along these lines.
