Rhodes Promoted To Secretary Of Kentish Town!

Our programme will probably be back up to 84 pages plus for our next home game against Langford in the Challenge Trophy on Wednesday 3 October, I gather we are expecting at least fifty ground hoppers that night so we want to give out all the right signals and leave no stone unturned

Will you be repeating all of last season's match reports then?

No but we'll have played 14 games so far by the time we meet Langford including pre-season friendlies, the Vase and London Senior Cup so that's 14 pages of match reports straight away, in addition we will have played 4 Reserve fixtures so that makes 18. It is all rivetting reading that helped us win SSML Division 1 programme of the year last season.

Clearly they operate on a "never mind the quality, feel the width" principle - Jane packs her programmes with repetitive stuff too!

Chalfont St Peter won the Programme Monthly Premier Division award last season and that wasn't a weighty tome by any means

Yes but ours was quality, it wouldn't have won the award otherwise and come a close second in the Programme Monthly and Soccer Club Swap Shop awards, Phil Watkins from Swap Shop told me the decision was virtually on the flip of a coin

I thought Noel Edmonds was on Swap Shop.

I gave Phil a selection of our progs from this season at the Barkingside replay on Monday. He was impressed by our different cover photo on each one, all from our previous 99 year history!

I wish I had got to Barkingside last Monday as everybody who is anybody (is that the phrase) seemed to be there. I have a lot of time for Phil Watkins, he is the genuine article and there are no hidden agenda's with him unlike with Football Man for example who moves in similar circles and their paths often cross

Where will the committee be sending you that night, then? Have Times Athletic got a game at Market Road?

Times Athletic play on the 4th.

Actually I have a high profile Police meeting on 3 October so may not be able to attend the Langford game anyway.

How was it at Tottenham last night by the way, I see the crowd was almost 36,000.

Good atmosphere in the away end which was full. Anorthosis didn’t play as well as they can and I thought the margin of victory flattered Spurs a little. Poor defending by the Cypriots didn’t help.

Spurs fans singing like they had won the championship. All they did was beat a small village team from Cyprus. They must be the most fickle supporters that I have ever come across.

Didn't expect Anorthosis to win but it was nice to go and watch a Cypriot team with friends.

Glad you enjoyed the game, I suppose you don't know if George Kilikita attended, no doubt one of his friends in Southgate got him a ticket and dragged him along kicking and screaming as he's a die hard Arsenal fan.
