i think rooney, lampard and hargreaves have problem

 

heskey and barry have been class and i wouldnt be looking to change that side at moment

 

if heskey was better finisher he would be up there with drogba

 

the difference in michael owen last 2 games has been massive, 3 lem goals

 

i thought defensively we were very average and on another night russia could have spoiled the party

Rooney should go back into the side, but not automatically. Put Heksey in for the next game or two and hve Rooney on the bench, the lad is absolute class and will be there long term but will be good for him.

 

At the moment Stee Mc seems happy to pick the players that are performing the best as opposed to those that have played the most for their country, that's the way to do it in my opinion and it has paid off in these last two games.

 

Keeping Owen fit and playing him is also vital, he is absolutely superb and his movement in and around the box can be next to none.

 

Also, how Gareth Barry has only got a few caps for England is an absolute joke.

Rio's goal glossed over a sloppy performance. Ashley Cole had a mare and even Terry gave the ball away too much. However, Richards is the mutts......

 

Russia overplayed around the box and a better more clinical team would have punished us. Still a win is a win!!!!

The reason why England have been so good the last few games, is cause the players who have played are hungry.

 

They are proud to play for their country, and want to keep their place.

 

Players like Lampard, Beckham, etc were just going through the motions, cause they were playing on England reputations, which is poor.

 

Another great performance last night against a decent Russia side.

 

Special mention to the Scottish as well. What a result...

well said Kaisey , looks like weve got players who are actually busting a gut to play for the country . Heskey doesnt need to score if he is gonna smash centre halves in the air all day . Rooney has a problem . Owen is number 1 striker without a doubt and these two games have highlighted that he can only play with a big man winning flick ons , be it heskey or crouch. Rooney has been going through the motions for england . Lampard has a major problem. Gerrard publicly stating that he likes playing with Barry is basically saying that he doesnt like playing with lampard. Barry protects the back 4 whilst gerrard can do his thing roaming everywhere. Plus the left foot right foot combo in the middle is nice.

 

Ashley cole is dreadful . I hope he dies.

How people can say that the likes of Beckham is not hungry to play for his country is beyond me. Granted he may not be first choice but every player who plays for England is hungry. You dont become a pro in the first place if your not hungry let alone earn the chance to play for your country.

 

This word just seems to be used for people who dont perform for England, when more often than not it is the way international football is played or the system they are playing that is the problem.

 

At club level managers buy the players that fit into their system, Unfortunately we dont have the option of buying players for England, we should therefore pick the best side and not necessarily the best players. Through injurys and suspensions old exma head has been forced into this and the result is too good England performances.

Cheapster, Beckham is not good enough end of. He has been the problem for the last 2 world cups, playing whilst injured managers scared to drop him other players having to cover him. Rooney Lampard, on the bench, if Barry or Gerrad dip in form bring them back in, and this applies to all positions, it's how it should always work, now of this old pals act.

There are many examples.

1966 Geoff Hurst, form did not dip Jimmy Greaves best striker in the world at the time did not get back in, the rest is history.

Trenks, if your form dips bring back ginge, if not you keep your place.

TIC i didnt mention Becks . I think he is ledge . People like rooney , rio, terry ,cole think that they are on the team sheet however they play, they need to be pushed and given some competition. now they have it , it may benefit the whole team .

Richards summed it up saying he knew he had to play out of his skin because Gary Neville will be wanting his shirt back.

Owen and Heskey were never like this at liverpool, good to see them performing very well together last two games.

 

Barry's been a good player for years and he is a very good option in midfield and brings a more disciplined performance in the middle then that of Lamps or Carrick

 

Richards is a Beast and Ashley Cole is poor

owen and heskey have always been good for england. heskey is less glamorous and perhaps thats what has hindered him. he does a dirty job for the team which doesnt get the credit it deserves.

heskey is definitely the answer at the moment as crouch cant get a kick at liverpool. how long will it be though until the press jump on his back? he has missed a chance in either game which isnt highlighted while we win. i hope they dont.

 

i think wayne bridge is a better player then ashley cole anyway. thought that a long time before the last 2 games. i dont think shorey or baines is the answer but its nice to see there are options.

 

glad you put it right kingy what you said about beckham. he buzzes off england and i dont think a player has been so passionate publically for a long time.

 

on the note of carrick why was he not on the nech for either game? if he was in the squad surely he wasnt injured! have i missed something?

Collectively yes but Bobby got 106 on his own, with brother Jack chipping in with 35.

Carrick is a great passer of the ball. But what else does he bring to the side?

 

He is like a poor man's Owen Hargreaves imo. He will struggle to get into United's side.

Heskey was man of match he busted there defence lost only a handful of headers up there.Owen loves him and to be honest England can only really play one way. Get it up to the big man and feed of. Stick to what we know best. Put it in the mixer at all times.

 

Barry is ok ,will struggle against a better midfield player as no real pace, Hrgreaves should replace him next game as will be more important away from home in group games.

 

wright "my real dad is not called Ian" Phillips was rubbish,did ok Saturday would replace him with Rooney out wide, better player and needs to play.

 

Joe Cole was poor last night but who else plays left side?

 

Cashley Cole is not the same attacking players as he was Arsenal for England!

 

terry and rio should be replaced with Scopes and Heffer as they are the future for the World Cup. !!!!
