night,quite a good performance with Owen's 2nd goal and Rio's goal I thought were excellant.

 

Still looked iffy at the back and the Ruskie's were unlucky with the dis-allowed goal, a refereeing decision we will agree with eventhough wrong

 

Impressed with Barry again, still 6 points in last 2 games and down to us to qualify.

Yes wrong decision but actually we were far superior to Russia. We played 4-4-2, had a naturally left footer playing and a striker that bashes people about. Proper English football. Fair play to the mighty Scots as well.

Yes overall we were far better but still looked suspect at the back !!!

I was at the game so not sure how it really came across on tv, but although it was a good result, thought we looked very lethargic and cautious (understandable considering the outcome if we had lost). Richards and SWP got in when they went for it, but seem reluctant to a lot of the time. Also thought Joe Cole had a poor game. Barry def MOM for me and Hesky and Owen do link v well.

This is only my opinion and being up in the top tier certainly does put a different perspective on a game!!

Who needs Rooney and Beckham ?

 

This lot seem to play with a lot more confidence about them.
