Well there you go then you said it, so get Charlie T. to write some articles and send them to all the appropriate papers, I would, but not being a " bona fida " journalist I feel my longer sentences would confuse things.

Why the [****!!****] are there so many anon attacks on Charlie? I don't know her that well, but at the moment we need all the help we can get. Is someone seriously trying to force her and Marcus out? If so what's the point on any of it?

Just to put anon straight - you can't simply write an article, send it to the paper and assume it will get in. Newspapers pay their own journalists to report on their set subject areas, sports for example, and even if they were to look to an outside source, they would need their editor to commission a piece out.

As I've said previously, I've offered pieces to the local papers and they've politely declined. Which is fair enough.

Charlie is right, I actually work for both the Slough Observer and (as we have taken them over) Slough Express.

I can tell you that the club needs to help itself in terms of getting 'positive' news in the paper really. At times getting news from the club (as I know getting info for the off website) is virtually impossible!

In the past when something good involving the club has happened there has been very few (one or two maybe) press releases issued to the local papers and indeed our own official website. A lot of the time you only find things out when you actually turn up at a game! Hopefully with Gary and Mr Sliski and the STST on board now communications will now improve.

If you journalist "turn up" for a game, you can "express" what you "observe" during the game. The report on the Andover game gives very little detail of the game itself, ie. the good flowing passing, space off the ball, petty bookings(in most cases),times the ref played advantage (then blew with the team at an advantage),how creative the play was,(you did state the last fifteen minutes were good, did someone tell you that or did you see it?

Portway,my "observe" & "express" comments were a dig mainly @ the Slough Observer who reported almost nothing on the ninety minutes of the match (Slough Express report had much more detail). The Andover Advertiser obviously had someone there who covered the ninety minutes.
