There have been a number of comments in various threads about the desperate need to "get people into the ground".

Clubs lke ours only survive on cash generated thro' the turnstile.

Okay there is sponsorship etc, but the main bulk is via the paying public.

The various ideas put forward by various people on this forum seem pretty good to me and all seem to have a similar theme - free tickets for kids, Adult pay plus free child, school tickets, half price with an Adult etc etc.

We would still get some money in the coffers with the sale of programmes and refreshments etc.

Yes, at the end of the day the team has to play well to get the people back for a second time, but at least let's get them in for a look and see.

We live in a big borough, Premier football is expensive and difficult to get tickets anyway and we have ( some may not agree ) a product to sell.

Why not give some of these incentives a try ?

Target a couple of games with good advertising ( not just pub and shop posters ) and see if there is any take up.

Speculate................ or go nowhere.

Lovely Stuff - The Board did consider this in the past and I think got prices to do it! Fixtures on oneside - Newsline and website on the other!

As we the fans are concerned maybe we can find some money to assist with this and walk them round the roads and insert them in the letter boxes - alternatively why not use our Post office connections?

Ask the advertiser to reprint our fxture list on the back page of their excellent newspaper. Most households receive one so why not ask? Alternatively, ask the Gazette to give THM a rest for one week and include the fixture list instead. Mnd you, I do enjoy his comments.

The Gazette - print the fixture list, bring it to the game and receive a discount/free programme, etc. More copies may be sold and we could have more people attending a game.

A report of any club, society or similar event is printed (usually and subject to space) free of charge as it is considered 'news'. A fixture list will be considered to be an advert and will be charged for. No harm in chaeckingout the advertising rates though - probably already been done I imagine.

I don't think a fixture list in the paper is worth doing as people throw the paper away. You're better off inserting a small advert for every forthcoming home match, about 10cm by 7cm sort of thing. I believe the old club used to do this sometimes. Even Brighouse Town do it sometimes...
