Great game.

Trotty played full 90 mins. Watson, goal keeper Matt Bowles, Kieron Morris also. Taffy-Alan will put his usual excellent report on tommorow.

We had 90 mins of end to end entertainment.

Report will be a bit late due to the fact I forgot to take down the team sheets I pinned up. Will pop up ground later and hopefully retrieve them b4 they are thrown away.

Agree with Graeme a very entertaining game with Folkestone too playing several first team squad players.

Ok, as I also ripped up my notes B4 checking, silly me, I will try and give a brief summary of the game.

Two teams both playing members of first team squad players made for an entertaining game. Folkestone took the lead when a defensive mix up let in Chris Fagg who fired into the net in the 11th minute. Both teams then had chances with Luke Stonebrige and Matt Bowles both making fine saves.

Margate drew level in the 28th minute when Darryn Vanhinsberg put in a cross which was flicked on by Kiron Morris to Neil Hoggart who hit in a shot on the far post. Then in the 35th minute Vanhinsberg whipped in a cross which Mark Watson rose too meet along with a Folkestone defender and the ball found the back of the net putting Margate into the lead. Three minutes later Kenny Pratt, who worked hard all game, was brought down in the area and picking himself up he fired the penalty into the net putting Margate 3-1 up at the break.

In the second half Folkestone came at Margate which resulted in some end to end stuff, Bowles making some more good saves and also the Margate defence, marshalled well by Robin Trott, held firm until injury time when Folkestone were awarded a penalty which John Ovard converted. Minuses for Margate were injuries to both Dan Allen and Kiron Morris but plusses were Mark Watson getting in a full game and helping out the youngsters by talking to them all the time and Matt Bowles showing that he is a good understudy to Scott for the first team.

Team: Matt Bowles, John Hinley, Dan Allen, Robin Trott, Glenn Moore, Neil Hoggart, Robbie Summers, Kiron Morris, Kenny Pratt, Mark Watson, Darryn Vanhinsberg. Subs: Zach Zacharia, Aaron Quane, Shane Brown, Olti Kecki, Chris Lewis

Att 52ish

Apologies for no Folkestone team but I cant remember all their names and also apologies to Reserves for not mentioning some fine play by them.

"52" would be about right taking into account the non playing reserves and the people "who snook in via the bar without paying".

With 52 Alan should have taken just about enough to cover the officals cost but, not recouped any of the monies lost last saturday when attendance was 26.
