Nice touch from Charlie in yesterdays NLT.(Couldnt get the NLP).

If you didnt see it I've included the whole interview below.Ronan George the interviewer.

Charlie Side

I have rediscovered my love for football & I think it's showing.

I started at Welling United and was a first team regular at 16,but after topping the scoring charts,I got messed about by the manager and decided to move.

Dulwich Hamlet came in for me and it was a good time for me.We had a great group of lads there but felt that we all got a bit too friendly-we didn't keep each other on our toes and didn't progress.

I allowed myself to put on weight and it's fair to say that I lost interest in the game. But this season all that's changed.

I decided to get my head down, get rid of the weight and join Margate,a big and ambitious club.

The lads here have great banter and they've all gone out of their way to look after me.The facilities are also second-to-none.

From a personal point of view.I'm happy with my form.Four goals in three starts is a good return including a hat-trick in 10 minutes against Tonbridge Angels, which was just crazy! I've scored hat-tricks before but never that quickly.

The first arrived in the first two minutes and the second soon after,so I was pretty confident I'd get the third by the end of the game, but to do it within the first ten minutes of the game was really enjoyable.

I've set myself a 30-goal target. With my ability and the quality of my team-mates I know I can do it.

On the pitch,we probably should have had a few more points. It's been a decent start but as a team we want more.

We've had a difficult beginning in the shape of Chelmsford City,pre-season favourites and East Thurrock who are the early leaders.

At the start of the season the boss,Robin Trott, made it clear that the main aim was the title. He set us the task of losing no more than five games because the champions don't lose too many more than that.

We've had two defeats so far so the pressure is on.

The 2-1 defeat to Hastings was hard to take, especially as we'd won three on a spin and looked good.

A point would have been disappointing but in fairness to their player,he hit an absolute worldie to win the game for them.

You can already see just how strong this league will be with teams like Wimbledon & Hornchurch trailing sides they'd expect to be ahead of.

This season we've done well against teams who have wanted to play compared to the physical sides who have made it a battle.

We've reacted well,so far,to defeat and setbacks and there's no reason why we can't string four or five results together.
