this is the way I see it all panning out for us little old skint urchins.......

 

starting games well and making lots of chances with as yet little reward.....few nerves coming into play after we dominate early and the missed chances giving confidence to the oppo.....one exception being the mugging of the ponytails which we shall leave to their soapbox and peter fosters incandescant rage.... grin

 

now lee and parks are gonna score goals..we know that for sure and harry is gonna push 'em for a place and such strentgh in depth also gives us amos and shane as back up.....shane especially will imo play a vital role as the season progresses...lightening speed and shoots on sight...

 

midfield is finding its feet and its confidence and with the ability of crossy (superb for me this term so far)...janners...lee...tommo...brothers...halle..keith etc we must have confidence...

 

defence is missing the legendary pairing of purds and macca...arguably the best central defensive partnership in NL footie over the past ten years.....godders needed time and is now out with injury....bostock and greeny both grow in confidence and will not be passed.....elliot has a massive divide to leap to cover for these guys but he is capable and a few games will see him make it....ronnie is fit and ready to play anywhere at the back as is young billy and I am sure if he has to then colin will throw him in.....there are others as well coming through...

 

we could have had 15 points from 21 in another dimension such is the difference at this level......but we have still started well and two wins when league action resumes could see us into the top three...its so tight it defies logic and imo it will remain tight all season.....I still see the ponytails and the woofters as favs but we can get into those play offs with what we have....should we achieve that it will be a remarkable season for us......

 

mind you..we could also end up in a relegation battle with the woofters..... shocked

 

its a funny old game... grin

Normally it is the other way around and it is us, who sound like doom and gloom.

There is nothing that I have seen so far that causes me concern. As I have said before, when we click our season will start. Even Saturdays point could prove vital and thats another clean sheet in the bag.

T'is a long season...................................

I wish....would have been fantastic to play on the emerald gereen carpet when I was non league and even league...in my day the pitches were total sh1te...even the hasbeens could have played proppa footie on THAT pitch.... grin

I walk across our pitch sometimes and the distant echoes resound from years past as I think about what could have been for me as I approach 60....let no player at any level take for granted the gift given by god to be able to play this wonderful game in a good team for a good manager on a good pitch in front of good and loyal supporters...

have it...!! grin
