Slough Town v Andover LATEST SCORE

We won 2-1, a great performance from the whole team!

Woody looked very good today, as did Davies. Their goal was debateable, a good free kick but not sure if it was actually a foul in the first place.

Woody's goal was just the luck we needed, it was an obvious cross, but no one went anywhere near it and it crept inside the opposite post. Davies scored a header off a great Woody cross (all of his crossing was excellent today).

Some good possession and attacking football today, just what we needed, and knew we could do.

If we play like that more often theres no reason why we cant move up the league.

COME ON YOU REBELS!! Well deserved win today.

A good performance from slough today. The team look alot stronger today with Jefferies and Murphy a little more pace in the squad espically down each wing and also the delivery from crosses was much better. Even though Slough have lost the first four games i would say there was so much confidence in there passing and holding the ball which we havent really seen atol this season. Hopefully this can continue now and who knows we may go on a little run.

MOTM for me Woodruffe.

a much better performance today from all involved the lads behind the goal seem to be getting their act together , well done lads but remember you've got to keep it up through thick and thin.slough's performance today was at a much better level though i feel it is now where it should have been at the beginning of the season still lots of work to be done it's a step in the right direction just got to keep up the hard work, well done the rebels a good improvement.

You could see how much the newfound confidence affected the team today as there were spells in the second half where we were all over them.

Good team performance and the return of Mike Murphy did the trick in defence today.

Thought Adrian Browne and Leon Woodruffe played quite well, along with Terry Davies (in the last 1/4 hour) and Lee Charles.

It was a more balanced team today, with everyone playing in their correct positions and also having players on the bench which gave confidence.

At last the luck went our way with Woodruffs goal.

At the end Andover almost gave up and it reminded me of some our performances last year.

It was good to be able to sing "Brazil of the southern league" and as Martin said "I had almost forgoten what it felt like to win" - the atmosphe was brilliant! yay yay yay yay yay yay

Lets not hope that we have to wait another 9 months for the next win! wink

Well its been 11 months since I last saw a Slough win (not counting Holyport) so in that respect it wouldn't be quite that bad... eek

I am chuffed to bits at this result and was disappointed to have missed it. I just worked out that the last Slough win I actually witnessed was October 17, 2006 at Staines, so I hope this win is the start of many and that I won't actually make it a whole year without seeing the Rebels win a competitive match!
