I would suggest that areas like the camera area should have a permenant fitting around it , and not yellow lines etc, this barrier should be fitted with a locked gate, the ladder going up to the camera platform should also be locked off. to prevent anyone without permission using the ladder. plus its a danger to children.

If you want to make sure and it worries you that much try here

You mainly look like 14 year olds, often act like 14 year olds, have the common sense of 14 year olds, have the man management skills of 14 year olds, and have an understanding of grammar and literacy far below that of my 10 year old.

I just hope this is not indicative of all the stewards.

Perhaps written instructions are not fully understood, which could be a cause of some of the apparent conflict and antagonism between stewards and fans.

as said before our stewards are to busy babysitting there own kids and watching the match.we know they dont want people standing at the plough end,so why dont the new head steward cut the segregtion at the swanscombe end,or is to hard to do.why do the away fans need a whole end when you only see between 50/100 of them at most games.in my opion our stewards are gutless.if there is any trouble most of our stewards bottle it.a halifax so called fan tried having a fight with a turnstyle opperator ( the same fan who jumped the turnstyle last season )and both times all he got was a telling off and told not to do it again.should of had the bottle to chuck him out

1tooth babysitting u lot is a hard job, and most of ur kids don't go to the agme's anyway. and as for segregtion u may not think we need it and sometimes we may not but we don't know if there going to be trouble from one game to the next, so the segregation stay's, or would u like gray's or oxford to come in and cause trouble but than again u'll just moan about that to saying y was the game not segregted, why the are the stewards not doing there job again and again and again.

This safety/strewarding debate is interesting as I had not really appreciated the situation until I spoke to the local fire officer a while ago who basically decides on the safety rules that apply at the ground under the legislation that covers stadiums.

This is applied via a safety committee that comprises reps from the club, the Police, local authority etc.

However there is no supporters rep. I got myself invited to a meeting of said committee and raised a few concerns that I and others had at the meeting about 2 years ago. I also suggested a supporters rep be invited (as per recommended in the Taylor Report on ground safety) to future meetings but as far as I know we (the paying supporter) still have no voice at this commmittee. Even the Trust don't seem to be invited.

In addition I also suggested that the club use the programme to inform supporters why we have to have the rules we do but again there has never been an article published as far as I am aware.

Basically we now have to follow the same rules that apply to Arsenal or perhaps more closer to home Scallyham. We are treated as one of the big boys now and have to have sterile areas, escape routes, segregation when assessed as needed and comply with other rules such as no bottle tops, glasses, etc on the terraces as well as having a certain number of stewards. Hence the no standing in the seats rule, the yellow lines etc.

It is all a bit over the top but basically if the club do not comply they do not get a safety certificate and can't play matches.

I know the new chief steward wants to ensure compliance with safety and other ground regulations such as to do with offensive language etc and hence why there is now a different approach to stewarding being noticed at present.

I don't know why the club can't just communicate all this stuff to supporters as I am sure it would stop a lot of misunderstanding and frustration.

I think writing to the club might be worthwhlie otherwise I don't think much will change having tried myself and not really got very far apart from a better understanding of why things are as they are.

Are you the new forum steward now ?? telling the forum what they can and cannot discuss ? feedback

I think what we need to do Busta is segragate.

So if we could have all the people that know how the Caps Lock button works to my left and all the people that think it'll be the end of us all and so refuse to use it to my right.

Now if only the people on the left write a new then this thread should die out rather quickly.

From what I hear, Dartford's stewards get payed a LOT more money than ours do. So any steward with the slightest bit of common sense will have left us. That's why we're left with the idiots.

Just let us stand behind the goal again and we'll be happy. There was no problem the whole of last season, why does there have to be one now?

This is all very interesting but, it's not a case of who wants what & people throwing their toys out of the pram when told to do something they don't like, it's "elf & safety".

Whether you, me or Mrs Miggins at the pie shop like it or not, the club have to abide by the "elf & safety" rules, even if the rules are total b*llocks ( and no account is made for common sense !!).

Remember when the Plough End Terrace was shut down at 5 minutes notice because of crumbling concrete steps ?? I believe that that decision was made by the regional Fire Officer on the grounds of "elf & safety" !! There are, probably, numerous other "rules" that the club have to adhere to to get the relevant safety certificates & therefore let people in.

Personally, I think the law is an ass ! However, the club have no choice but to conform, hence the stewarding. .........and it's a lot cheaper to get in house stewards than old bill ( when they are free !!).

I didn't realise you had to be a Mastermind contester to be a steward, or a footballer for that matter !

So don't blame the club, blame the Government.

Me & Wat Tyler are on the p*ss tomorrow so may end up marching on Parliament !!

I predict a riot !!

Cheers,
