Costing EUFC Money

I am beginning to think the over zelous stewerding is starting to cost the club hard cash.If I was taking a young person to the match and just because he had his toes 20mm on the yellow line he was told to stand up and go back when he was causing no obstruction at all is a bit hard to swallow. There is no reason given and it all seems a bit heavey handed to me.

My friends and I used to stand by the stand and watch the first half were now told not but we often look and see young stewerds frends standing there with pushchairs chatting not whats good for one.

My point is I know there must be health and saftey in the ground but there seems little common sense and seems to be done by people with very little skills in communication with people.I think the club should take a haer look at the way go about this as it could prove costly.I dont want the gates to become even smaller than what they are

Agreed that is completely daft, how could that possibly constitute a fire hazard?

Unless the yellow line marks a fire exit of course, in which case blocking it would not only be stupid and illegal but extremely dangerous and the stewards would certainly have to keep the area clear.

Anyone old enough to remember the Bradford City fire will know what is really shocking at a football ground. A lot of people where reduced to tears that day too.

as i said before sorry for what happen on tuesday night, and as for the yellow mark's you are not allowed to put ur legs or feet on them as it is a emergency access and a walkway and i know it tape off by the camera man up top but that coz of the ladder. and if the fire officer came round and saw that the yellow marks have people legs across them he could close the ground down, and we all don't won't that. so can u keep that in mind please.

i was with 2 little lads at the histon match and stood along side the camera taped off area, the 2 lads sitting down on the step with their feet on the yellow lines were asked to move by a female steward, she was about 15 yrs old, and about 4 ft high weighng no more than about 7 stone. As for fire and saftey, the tape across the path, stopped you walking any further, so why ask them to move, they was causing no obstruction, and no harm to anyone. over reaction me thinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the tape under the camera is there so we can put the ladder under it, as it is the only access for the camera man in emergancy so he can came down, but if u relly like we can take the tape down and put the ladder on the picth so if by some chance a player or the line's man come's across it and is seiriously injuryed themself, the stweard was done her job the rule is the same on all side's of the pitch so it not an over reaction and it the same in ever groud

If the stewards are going by the rules then let them get on with it. Is it really a problem standing behind a yellow line. Why not knock the wall down and all stand on the pitch?

It seems the srewards are the only ones doing a proper job on matchdays at the moment.

Point being , the walkway along side the camera man on the away end side is a dead end walk way , you cant walk through because of the tape( WHICH IS THERE FOR SAFETY REASONS) so what bloody harm do two little kiddies do by sitting down at the front under us, with their feet on the step.To me common sense should be used, and to spurt on about closing the ground because of it is a load of frigging tosh, these stewards are jobsworths and wouldnt know common sense if it came up and bit them on the nose.Sure the club has to have a certain number to make the day safe, sure they are given instructions, sure they are there for everyones safety, sure they are there in case of an incident, but surely they can work out if its a hazard or not, they just go around nit picking to make them selves look busy, whilst watching the game..............
