WHY?

Why do some Margate supporters continue to go over to watch that other lot?, even when the reserves are playing at home. Something as a Gate supporter that would never enter my head.

We all have our preferences Graeme.

Whilst I'm sure its appreciated, the importance of the reserves & the ties it should & has with the first team we are fortunate or unfortunate, depends on which way you look at things,to have two Thanet teams in the same division & both are quite equal at this time(wont be come the end of he season mind)& fighting for the same promotion.

Some people(like myself)or the vast majority aren't into the reserve thing as much as some others & if it means them wanting to go over to Ramsgate to look at the opposition(& hopefully to see the Rams falter at the same time,as that is truthfully one of the reasons grin),then WHY shouldn't some do that.

People in this world DO have a choice & long may that be.

It dosen't mean that people such as I are never going to see a reserve match(I do on a few occasions)or aren't interested in their results.

You cant knock people for wanting to see a first team opposition game in our division if one is scheduled. Some prefer to focus on the first team & its opponents rather than the reserves. Shocking as it may be but its a fact & lets face it its only 4 miles away.

Good on people like yourselves though & those with family ties involved in the reserves,as without these people we wouldn't get feed back or the players themselves wouldn't get the support but its all down to personal choice.

Further to the above,in my younger years I recall vividly going to nearly all home reserve games,if unable to travel away for 1st team games, for whatever reason,& waiting for that phone call in the old stand at half-time(you could hear it ringing out loud) for the up-to-date result of the first team away from home. Then we used to stay behind at the end of the game to hear the full time score ANNOUNCED,yes announced on the tannoy.

The quicker we get promoted out of this league or Ramsgate drop a league the better it will be for the reserves & its following.I can assure you if we were separated by divisions the thought then,of going to see a game over there would never enter my head & the reserves would then possibly get a bigger look in from people like myself.

Where have all the poster's gone?.

A few months ago posts less controversial than this would have resulted in page after page of comment.

Have we lost interest?, if so why. Is it the saga of the ground development?, to many missed deadlines?. Do people think the Club has lost its way?.

If so what needs to be done to get it/us back on track?.

Sensible answers with no character assassinations please.
