F.A.Cup 1st Round Qlfy. at Welwyn Garden City

For those who didn't know, Welwyn Garden City play in the Spartan South Midlands League, Premier Division (Step 5, same as Essex Senior League) & finished 4th last season. This is the same divison as our 05/06 FA Cup nemesis, St. Margaretesbury, who they beat 2-1 last week.

 

They dumped AFC Sudbury out of the Cup season before last, and should have reached the 5th round of the Vase that same year, beating Concord & Newmarket on the way. However they were disqualified for fielding an ineligable player against Newmarket.

 

Last season they made an early departure from the Cup, losing at Haverhill in the Extra Preliminary Round. They went out of the Vase in the 3rd round, losing 5-0 at Lowestoft.

 

The A414 route via Harlow & Hertford is a decent alternative to the M25/A1 if there's traffic problems, specially as their ground is on the eastern side of Welwyn Garden City.
