Town Show

Recommended Posts

Just to remind all you good people that the Town Show is on this Saturday & Sunday. Saturday the Ladies Section will be manning the Stall & on Sunday the usual crew will be there complete with the Football Game. We are hoping that several ETFC Players will also be on hand help out too.

If the weather is good it should be a good day, so if any of you can spare even half an hour to help out that would be great.

Some fans help the club by offering their professional knowledge in areas of business while others help by writing articles for the local newspaper, the match day programme, by taking photographs for use on the club’s website or by publicising the club by distributing fixture posters.

Work and family commitments prevent some people from helping out on match days or at events like the Town Show but it doesn’t mean that these supporters don’t care!

But if you look at those who have been a part of the organisation behind setting up for Sunday you will probably find that it is the same usual few who work their socks off on matchdays as well. We have families and work commitments as well!!

Perhaps the "usual few" should have a rest on an upcoming matchday & see if other board/committe members/fans etc would come to the fore, then when/if they do a rota could be set up allowing the "usual few" time with their families/work commitments..............No?

Mr Safety Officer & myself had a wedding to attend last Saturday, luckily it was a late kick off (the wedding I mean) but we did still get to the game as normal and set up, then we made sure that "OUR" Club was in safe hands when we left.

What Andy & myself mean is that it would be good if from time to time we had some new faces helping out, no matter how small that amount of help was. We all have family commitments but do manage to fit ETFC in.

Don't know what would happen if Mr Safety Officer, Jess Andy & Myself called in sick one day though!!!!!!

Do you include collating/stapling programmes and operating the turnstiles as being 'practical'?

Fran C - In club shop
Paul R - Sometimes does turnstile, counts the money.
Scott R - producing the programme
Frank C - Almost full time groundsman these days learning off the maestro
Roy B - Unwell but previously groundsman of the year and Sunday Gangmaster
Les G - Kit boy
Ciaran G - Write match reports and writes programme
Peter C - Club Secretary - always plenty to do to support keith W
The Inner Circle, Paul M, Martin C, D Bryant, and R Reed - do from time to time write for or staple the programme on match days but they look after the esteemed guests and the bigger picture.

If you think you may have these skills stand for the Board? Lots of people say I'l stand for the Board and then change their minds for reasons best known to themselves.

Many thanks to everyone who helped with the setting up at the Town Show yesterday. Roll Call........... Andy, Eric, Medders, Taco, Southport, Chairman (oops ex-chairman) Jason, Jack, Perry, Nicky oh yeah and Mr Safety Officer.

Thanks to Lynne Cantle for manning "The Till", Jamie Nay & Charlie Hasler for being there nice and early. Adam Gant, Bryan Hammatt, Ricci Crace, David Bastian, Peter Hammatt & Jim Chandler also made an appearance, as did Roger, Scott & Paul Reed and Paul Millington, so a really good effort by one and all.

We all had a really good day and about 248 attempts were made at trying to win a football. Only three children managed it though. Charlie Hasler only need one more Goal!!!!! All the money we raised on the day is going to help pay for the "JETS" new Mascot Kits, many thanks to one and all.
