This no standing rule is ridiculous anyway, we were even told to stay seated when the Fleet were on the attack or taking a corner or free kick!!??

When everyone's seated, there's barely any atmosphere at all. Last night when we stood up in the first half, the singing was louder and it last longer. It's what the team wants, and we can't really do that sitting down.

I would also like to know why the barrier and exclusion zone between the Stonebridge Road side and Swanscombe end were in place for such a low-profile fixture. It appears the standard has now been set, given that this is arguably the fixture in the season (or one of two or three) that is the least likely to attract trouble - I fear all games will now be at least 'semi-segregated', which is ludicrous.

When there is no burger van for the away fans, they have to enter the home end for food anyway, and home fans, perhaps unaware the other side of the away terrace is sealed off, could quite easily walk into the away end unawares when the gate on the main stand side is open, as I did last night briefly before the game started and as Hirsty's comments show. This makes any semi-segregation pointless, as anyone wishing to cause trouble could easily fraternize with the away fans anyway. Furthermore, any provocative home singing is always confined to the Northfleet end, as the drum never moves from there.

If any stewards are reading this, an explanation of the club's current segregation policy would be most appreciated.

Of course, the elegent solution would have been to have the 500 seats toffset to the side, and re-concreting the remainder of the terrace. That would have given us the required seating, and would have given additional covered standing room.

There is no obvious sign of the new ground being built before the Olympics (though I would be delighted to be proved wrong), so the extra expense could have been justified.

A brand new stadium on the doorstep of Ebbsfleet stn, colud also prove a moneyspinner as a training venue for some events - please note that Buckmore Park and the Black Lion at Gillingham are already investing for this.

The extra expense may or may not have been justified but who was going to provide the money?
My understanding was that seating was put in as it was the cheapest way to re-open the stand and that we did not have the funds to do anything other than the cheapest option.

Seven games into the season and things should be settling down. Unfortunately for us, we just aren't very good.

I've been to the four home games, and something that has become painfully obvious is that we haven't got a striker. Forwards yes, but no striker. With the exception of the Cambridge game, we've lost or won by a single goal. This, I feel does our defence and keeper justice. However, even with three forwards? on the pitch last night not one could score a goal.

Pre-season Liam was quoted in the press, for every player to step up and be counted. With the loss of Charlie Mac it was the entire squads job to score goals. My opinion is, none of them are capable enough or ever will be. We need Charlie Mac or an equivalent.

John Main, Danny Kedwell, Danny Hockton, Rob Haworth.
All were available in the summer.

Much as I liked him CG, you can't seriously be suggesting Rob would be the answer to our striker problem?!

Maybe we should get Roy back. And Dave Arter...

I course I am serious, Stu. Cannot really see what the problem with him would be.
Big, strong, good in the air, holds the ball up well, good target man, has conference experience, scores goals, and is only 32 years old.

Agree to disagree on that one, CG! I don't think he'd've been floating about Surrey's lesser clubs in the Ryman League and Conference South if he still had much to prove at Conference level. Some of your younger suggestions I might go along with, but I'm not of the mind that Rob Haworth would cure any of our ills up front!

If you take your wife to Bluewater, you deserve all you get. I divorced mine when I heard it was being built, as we lived less than a mile from there! laugh

In my opinion they look a bit isolated and daft all huddled together in that stand, it was a bit different when the whole stand was standing, but bill i do agree it was quite good banter with them up at the back at the half way line...
