urghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh . not much more.

Just seen Eastenders and can confirm that it was much more enjoyable. If only we had Ronnie and Roxy upfront. A great pairing.

I don't think it's the curse of a newly promoted team. I thinks it because we are not very good at the moment.

One of the poorest performances from us for some time - not 1 shot on target (Do they actually practice shooting low & straight?) and we never really looked like we'd get a goal back.

Nade & Eribenne are looking lightweight & I can see us having to go into the transfer market in January.

No-one really shone tonight - Luke almost got Fleet MOM by default as he was virtually the only one to look much above mediocre.

The only positives? First, thank goodness for the poor attendance, for once - at least it meant there were fewer around to be put off coming back & secondly - last year we'd have lost the game 3 or 4 nil (a la Stafford) so I suppose it could have been worse.

Why did we think it necessary to play EVERY ball, no matter how short, in the air? We've played it about on the floor before and we look brilliant but as soon as it goes in the air, we seemingly lose possession automatically. What's more, we don't learn from the mistakes!

Very little movement from anyone. As soon as player picked a ball up he had no options.

I'd be interested to know why the Plough End is suddenly no-standing. I won't criticise the stewards because they're enforcing the rules of other people, and I won't criticise the board for making the rules as I don't know their motivations and reasoning.

I really really am disappointed and 10 points from seven games is a poor start, we've just got more work to do further on down the line. frown

Luke Moore & the bunch in the Plough End, who kept singing to the end, were the only people to come out of tonight with any credit - apart from Histon of course who would not have been flattered by a 4-0 victory. Once they scored, we just seemed to accept that we were going to lose. Liam just retreated into his shell (as he so worryingly always does when we are playing badly); none of the players were talking; it became the display of a team totally bereft of spirit.

Sure we were weakened by absences, with little room for flexibility in the line up or formation, but what happened in the 2nd half cannot be excused. I've seen some really poor Fleet sides in the 35 years I've been watching, but they'd at least go down with all guns blazing. Tonight we just seemed to feel sorry for ourselves. We lost narrowly on Saturday to a side who may well push for promotion & if I was a newcomer to that match, I'd definitely have returned to watch again. Any newcomer wishing to return after our failure to compete tonight would have to be into heavy masochism in a positively life threatening way.

8 days ago we were a minute from going top of the table. Tonight we looked like a side with no hope of survival. "You're not very good!" sang the Histon supporters. Quite the best example of the noble English tradition of understatement I've come across in a long time.

This has to go down as the worst performance of the season so far, but it's expected when our team is full of many injuries. Results will come with the injured players gradually coming back into training, Opinel etc.

We did miss MacCarthy tonight, he's a true leader of the team.

Bring on the Weymouth.

Hah! I can say the same thing although it was nearly as bad as the quality of football on display.

As stated above, last night was the worst performance I have seen from the boys in red for quite some time. We never looked like creating anything. We need someone to put their foot on the ball in midfield rather than just launching it in the air.

Strikers looked lightweight as well.

We need to stop the rot on Saturday at Weymouth.

well the no standing rule has been enforced in the plough end now, a boy about 14 on the back row was perching on his seat. the stewards didnt like it and asked him to go with them. a complete over reaction by the stewards who reduced the boy to tears for gods sake! the plough end took a stand literally and all stood up to protest against this ridiculous rule!

The obvious answer is a one match boycott of the stand. Easy to arrange - and would be as effective as it would be embarrassing for the stewards and club.

Bit like the occaision last year in the main stand when 2 stewards pounced on a 5 year old who had the audacity to stand up as he wanted to sit next to his mum!!

The day we get "proper" stewards instead of trained apes will be a good day for the club.

And for goodness sake- a 5'1" tall girl steward weighing about 6 stone imposes no authority whatsoever, expecially when wearing a ludicrously oversized XXL reflective jacket down to her ankles!!!

Hmm, the first part appears to be hve been mention before, both last season , and more recently.

As for passion, out of the entire squad, only MaCarthy and Slasher appear to have the Kenny Burrett/Jimmy Jackson "never say die" attitude.

Possibly because they were Fleet through and through.
