What difference does it make to the players when the crowd really gets behind them?

What does he feel are the specific strengths and weaknesses of a)himself b)Roddis and c)Betts when it comes to managing the team?

Charlie and Chris mentioned on an earlier thread about scouting for local league players. Is having local lads something Wilko would like to encourage. Are there any moves to go to games to check talented players out? Are we relying too much on former Rebels?

Do you read the Slough fans forum and if you do do you pay any attention to them?

Having now got the squad together and got through the first five games what realistically are your ambitions for the season?

What have the problems been; after stating before we kicked off the season that we would challenge for the title? Is the league a lot harder than he was expecting or is it due to the player absences?

I think the point about scouting is very important as shown by our failure to field a keeper the other day. We need to create links with the schools and local clubs and look at their talented 16 and 17 year olds as potential first teamers. I remember playing in the same league as Lloyd Owusu when I was 14 and there were others there at the time who would surely make the grade at the level we are now at. What about young lads who have recently left school? I'm sure there are ways of reaching these lads who otherwise might not be doing anything. Look at a player like Ian Wright who was playing for a pub team until his early twenties. Slough is a huge town and their must be some talent out there.

I'm happy to report that last night there were a lot of younger lads training with the STFC boys - i know we always had a youth squad training alongside them this season but it looked yesterday like they were becoming more involved from where i was...

Isn't that the under 17 team that trains with us?

thats what i mean, they usually train alongside them but not with them - however, it looked like they were becoming more involved in the STFC lads training.
