I have said it before, the bigger clubs are in the Ryman prem.

Of the clubs in the ryman prem, wombles, chelmo, ricay, hornchurch, maidstone, margate

would all beat any of those gates on a regular basis.

Teams like tonbridge, horsham, hastings would all average around the 500 mark.

Out of the sides in the conf south only newport and bath are really capable of crowds over 1000 more than once a season

What you wittering on about mate.It is a discussion about the crowds in the conf south.

The fact of the matter is that there have already been 7-8 crowds at least of over 1000 in the ryman prem

I doubt there has been more than 2 in the connie south, those are the facts.

No one is questioning the sides in there but the drop in crowds from the conference to the conference south is quite frankly embarrassing.

The old system although there is less chance to go up into conference from each of the three leagues ensured that the crowds and spectator interest were bigger than they are now.

Since weymouth went up the conf south has not had a big club in there who have averaged crowds anything like getting close to 1000.

The big sides in the ryman prem could probably add 1-200 on their gates if they were trying to get into the conference from the ryman prem

Also, the fact of the matter remains that while hornchurch were in the ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE they were averaging more than 50% of the sides in the Conf South, maybe even more than that.

There are teams in there who can attract decent gates but they are not doing so

Look at St Albans, they took 4-500 down to weymouth 2 years ago but now they can't even get that at home.

The mighty Saints are having a rather hard time at the moment. Sad to see.

Even us on a good day can get better crowds than some teams in Conf South.

There are some good teams in the Conf South such as Lewes, Havant, Bishop's Stortford but none of them get great crowds.

stortford got about 550 which is a good crowd for them but teams like lewes, stortford are not in particularly big towns

St Albans, eastbourne, basingstoke,Sutton, welling, bromley are all in big towns with big catchment areas but fail to get decent crowds.Saying that 500 plus for basingstoke is a half decent crowd. But i still think clubs like that should be getting 6-800 minimum

Teams like St Albans, Bromley, Eastbourne, Welling tend to get crowds around the 700/800 mark when they doing well.

Bromley got over 3,000 for their play off final last season whilst St Albans are capable of getting over 1,000 if they were topping the league and playing good football.

When we were in the Ryman Premier, Basingstoke used to get less than 350 most weeks except when either us or Aldershot played them. Noticed Maidenhead have been attracting better gates. They had over 600 for their first home game when a few years back they used to get less than 200!!!

basingstoke got around 300 when we were in the conf south. What you also have to remember is that the majority of the crowds wittnessed early on in the season will usually go down as more and more teams fall away from the top.Obviously some will go up as their team gets better but these will be maybe 2-3 clubs.

Newport might get a thousand now but if theey lose a couple that will go down to 4-500
