Sappleton and Ross Smith

May be they are both injured, but i see that neither seem to be in either the Boston or Dagenham squads (not even subs) currently.

Any one know of a club who are a bit stretched defensively at moment where they could keep fitness up and come on loan until January, get us through a tricky patch, help Young and Smith out and maybe even help us proceed a few rounds in the FA Cup/trophy.The extra money that would bring in, would surely help pay their wages.

We've got the FA cup/Trophy/ Westview cup/KSC-probably some replays- aswell as league coming up over next few months, and there is no way that Young and Smith will get through all those games without being injured/suspended/ or simply knackered.Time to get them help i feel.

Maybe RT is on the phone to Sapps as i type ?

Did'nt RT say when Sapps left, that Sapps would love to come back to Margate one day-here's the opportunity !!

I'm convinced that Ryman standard is just as good as conference south/north.It would put him in the shop window again prior to the next transfer window and help 'Gate out until Jay is fit again, and there are fewer games after Christmas.

Sappleton has never been registered as a Boston player. He picked up an injury before they'd registered him and they tore up the form and told him he could go. Tommy Taylor apparently didn't want a big squad.

Understand your postion Gringo, but is it realistic to think that Smith and Young will get through uninjure/not suspended/ top of form etc. in 4 different cups aswel as league betwen now and December.

Plus who covers at full back if Harte or Skinner get injured/suspended.

A bit of forward thinkijg is needed here, as we were short of defenders at start of season and its not getting any better.

Any additional expenditure would be paid back by prize money from cup progression.

Not normally a gambler, but to me, in this case, RT and the Board definately need to 'speculate to accumulate,

After you have made all your big money signings MM (where is the money coming from)and totally disenhartened the youth that is the future of the club where do we go when we have the team spirit of that team you obviously adore (AFC Norbiton).

If you were to have witnessed the team spirit that was so evident last Saturday you would stop requesting new players.

The team that has been assembled this season is superior to last seasons and will go on to achieve more.

Absolute [****!!****] as usual Joseba. What MM is sugesting is to strengthen the squad as he as most people believe we have no real depth. Please don't start banging on about our youth policy now after most on this forum have previously stated they are not happy with using youth as back up to the main squad. If we end up like we did last season with players injured and suspended we will be fooked.

The team spirit was good because we were able to relax after 8 minutes against a basicly crap opossition who had the stuffing knock out of them. We have a good core of players but if we lose 2 or 3 we have no quality back up.

I would love Joseba to be right and Young and Smith become big money signings for league clubs, and scouts flocking to Margate to see them perform.

It could happen, and maybe they are good enough; but just feel you need that experienced defender to supplement it.

As it stands, if either Harte,Skinner, Young or Smith get injured/suspended where is the cover ?

Its also a bit of a different game when its a cold and wet november night in Essex to a sunny day in Kent when you are 3-0 up after 10 minutes.

Still, one game at a time and so far so good, and really hope that Smith and Young continue to prosper.

Can those 4 defenders left standing, alone see us through 4 cups plus the league matches between now and Christmas though.

Have the likes of Young and Smith indeed got the stamina after working in their full time jobs during the day.

Can we realistically expect them to do that .Its equally unfair on them to expect them to perform heroics week in and week out,no matter how good they may be; so simply think there is an urgent need for an additional central defender.
