The Reserves had an excellent 3-1 victory at Clarence Park over EHC Premier Division side Brentwood in the second round of the Fred Budden Trophy.

That sounds like a pretty superb win, considering Brentwood are in the league above (I think). Anyone know the team line-up and scorers?

Good work RTS, good work CF. Just seen the scorers updated on the site.

Good result, that. Young side as well. From what I know, Hull is 19, Lutton 18, Turkey 18, Deacon 19, Seeby 18/19, Stannard 20?, Parsons 19, Collins 18, Jones 18.

Is Lee Ansell any relation to Gary Ansell?

I'd like to say give some of them a go in the first team but from what I've seen only Deacon and Stannard are really ready for it, unfortunately Stannard plays in the same position as Martin Young so I can't see him getting too many opportunites. Deacon has had a few games and I'm surprised he wasn't in the first team squad on Saturday given we only had one centre back at our disposal.

Anyway, good to see the team doing so well and I'll be there for the final of the FBT.

Ansell and Ansell are no relation, I'm pretty sure. In my opinion there are a few of the reserves who wouldn't look too far out of place in the first team the way they are playing at the moment (both the reserves and the first team). Deacon hasn't had as many games as you would think, RTS, and so I doubt he's enjoying sitting on the bench for the firsts instead of playing for the seconds.

I too would like to add my congratulations to the chaps, an excellent win against Premier division opposition.

I am however, slightly disappointed that we didn't get 5, as we have done in the last 2 games against supposedly superior opposition. Namely Broxbourne Boro' and Witham Town.

(this is a joke, sometimes it appears that it's necessary to say so).

I'd also like to commend the excellent work performed by Vince Buck and Clive Attwood in turning around a potential slump, especially after the awful loss to Southend Manor.

Right now I'm 'stuck' in HK I'm feeling a tad redundant.

As GHA rightly pointed out, this is a very young side, with the exception of DG, sorry mate, who given the right opportunities will do credit to the club in the future.

Just to confirm GHA's assumption, Gary Ansell and Lee Ansell are not related.

The next Cup game against Premier opposition is Wednedsay 12th, at home against Heybridge Swifts. Hopefully the chaps can continue their excellent run against this calibre of opposition and , if possible, it would be good to see a few more faces at the park giving them the support they deserve.

Lastly, worth mentioning for those unable to get to the first team game that day. Saturday 15th sees the visit of Purfleet to the park. The team who inflicted our first defeat this season.

It wasn't even close, they 'mullered'us 5 - 1, suffice to say there's a few of us who would like to put this right.

The next reserve team fixture is away at Maldon Town in the league. I myself won't be able to make it, as I travel back from HK that day, perhaps I'll see a few of you down at the park if I'm allowed out.

The rezzies are younger than you think GHA!

Hull is 19, Lutton 18, Turkey 18, Deacon 18(paper was wrong), Seeby 18, Stannard 19, Parsons 19, Collins 18, Jones 18.

Its good for city that rezzies are young and can progress,be interesting to see how many do though? Deacon and standan are both young and can only get stronger with age etc...we do have an old team and maybe some youth in team may help?Future looks good though! Maybe rezzies can bring some silverware to club this year?

we shall see.....

hong kong saint!hows the goldfish?

A grand total of 2 years out. Not bad though.
