Absolute tosh. Having sorted out the money for the opening weeks of the season, all the players have been paid in full thus far as per the structure agreed by Darron.

The budget is similar to last seasons, but has been increased slightly.

£2,000 a week for the squad should be plenty for more than four league defeats and a humiliation in the cup, should it not? I'm pretty sure that we could get better players than perhaps two or three at the club for the same money, if not less. And if this player truly believes that every player cares about the club and the shirt and are not doing it for the money then prove it on Saturday

Ok that may be so, But as someone who has spoken to him at length on many occasions i want to throw my cap into the ring.

Wilko will always try his best for the club and no matter what happens with us this season (even if its no points all season) for the time that Wilko is our coach he will always do what he thinks is best for the club and the players, i happen to know he has spent his own money on things for the team. I have no idea about the regularity of the wages, but i bow to Gary's superior knowledge on that. But what i am sure of... is wilko is loyal to the club and will try his best for us. If this was not so, he would have gone. Eddie Denton didnt get this much abuse and he shot off as quickly as he could when the [****!!****] hit the fan. wilko has stuck through all of it through thick and thin, and for that, he deserves some respect.

Also, the fact is if he goes, i gurantee we will have less than 11 players on our books, which shows the respect he gains from his squad.

The thing that we need to remember looking at this thread is that we all care, we all have differing views but we all want one thing - success.

I guess the frustrating thing for us fans is were now playing 'village' clubs with next to no fans and backing and seem to be getting spanked each week.

From a fans point of view as the anonymous player says yes we should get behind the team, but that's ganna be hard as we are not playing well and losing against some very average teams.

I don't think anyone can say that we have played a very good team this season and lost. If we do play a good team and get spanked then hands up we'll all admit it, but at the moment it's just so frustrating.

As Martin says we knew what was happening last season. IMO the Ryman Prem's a good standard and what i've seen from this league it's not.

Our campaign virually ended after the Staines away game last season when several players left and they were replaced with (no offernce here) but the likes of Perrineau-Daly and the Jakanowski brothers. It summed it all up when we had the, two subs against Chekmsford away last season and our 40 year old manager/forward on the right wing against Dwaine Clark!! We were pretty much relegated from the end of September.

Howvever, we do have a budget in this league which should be competitive. Expectations were high come the start of the season and yet were back at the bottom again.

Oh and can I just say rather than some people point the finger at Wilko a few of the 'fans' favourites should take a hard look at themselves and their attitude. Some turning up at pre-season games when they can be bothered and others at matches this current season.

Gary, wasn't meant in a nasty way but people calling for heads to roll only see it 1 way, and i know for a fact at least one player was short on the first weeks wages. Don't get me wrong it may have been sorted now,but absolute tosh its not.

So I guess that the figure that the supporters trust were told was the playing budget is wrong? Just like the £2,000 the players bitched and cried and moaned about and refused to play until they were paid was well off? Or let me guess, you're not getting as much as some other players are getting and are just a wee bit jealous?

Looks like the spirit of Jarvis lives on in the changing room?

I trust what Gary has quoted.

If the player has a problem put it through the official channels and not through this forum - because as I have been told off for many a time on here, that we are not allowed to air our dirty washing in public!

Next the players will be wanting a home lose bonus to go along side the home draw bonus!

I think it might be wise to actually draw a line under this now. We've all said our piece and we are all unhappy with the start that has been made to the season. However, having just re-read this thread I've come round to Sue's way of thinking. It is not a good idea to air all of this in public. We've just sorted out the Express' Slough story for them and it really wasn't necessary.

How can you talk about basing a squad around Jon Mills, he is woeful, lacks pace as well as any quality and has been a major factor in our decline since he joined the club. Yet at least players such as Steve Daley are 100% committed to the club and have proved over the years his quality.

where on earth did that little outburst come from? Enough with this anonymous slagging off of players, if you can't be man enough to put your name to a claim, don't make it.

I've just re-read some of Warren's Slough Town Soapbox stuff and got to the one about the AFC Wimbledon game. (yes, i'm bored at work.)

It made me smile to remember a time when not only the fans were all cheering on the lads on the field and being fully supportive but also a time when the players weren't stabbing each other in the back and were all fighting for the same cause. Let's return to that please.

Thats just plain wrong. Mills has been our best defender since he joined. Also as someone that has followed Daly for so many years im quite worried you cant even spell his name.

Just to add one last thing - do the current players really think they deserve their money in full?

With players not showing up during pre-season, doing on holiday during the season and planely not showing up for games and training sessions they don't deserve being paid a full "wage".

A players weekly wage should be split 3 ways in my eyes - for each training session (Tues & Thurs) plus the game whether they are chosen to play or not. Turn up to all 3 then you have no reason to complain and fans won't feel like they are being cheated.

Obviously I'd like to reiterate that their is no current money problems at the club as Gary has said incase my post makes it sound like there is.

There's a not-so-subtle difference between last season and this one. Last year, we were going out KNOWING that it was damage limitation and nothing more. Every single team we played was on a bigger budget with better players, so it was more gallows humour as opposed to trying to enjoy ourselves.

Now we find ourselves paying the same money for our squad against teams which are in no way in the same class as Chelmsford, Wimbledon, Billericay, Bromley, etc. and yet we're still getting turned over week in, week out. There's too much deadwood in the team, and a lot of players who are simply past their prime, under-achieving and simply collecting a bit of cash on the side and this is what I have a problem with

Guest Brother-in-law

Just a quick note to say that anyone talking of changing the manager after 4 games must be some sort of moron, I have to agree with charliethomas that it is way too early in the season to be talking of new managers.

As for Wilko's committment, as I'm his Brother-in-law I can vouch first hand that he is 110% committed to this club. On his Sisters wedding day recently he was on the phone trying to sort out the goalkeeper issue, which didnt go down too well but he wanted to try and sort it out for the team.

Best thing the supporters can do is get behind the team and try and help the team get their next win, surely you can see that slagging the team off isnt productive to results.
