Thing is Reg, you have never actually asked to buy anything,

If you do want something, then why didn't you pm me when I suggested it. Why didn't you ask Bro to get it for you, then there is the post, the telephone, carrier pigeon.

What is you want, just reply to this post with an order and contact details and I will sort it for you.

Bilboy, I have just spoken to JR and he has informed me that he has not recieved a PM from you. I'm not about to go into a "did he, didn't he" but if you wish to purchase any stock from the shop you can PM TC, myself as well as JR to make sure your enquiry is dealt with.

As for Reg...no comment.

I did PM him yesterday but it looks like it didn't work for some reason.

He has now contacted me and everything is sorted.

I hope my original post didn't sound negative as John has been very helpful, polite and eager to help since I started asking him to send me merchandise 3 years ago, he really has been a life saver.

Thankyou for your help John, TC and Gazza

I do go to the games, but I've often thought that online sales is something the club should try. Perhaps we could use Ebay's infrastructure and set up and Ebay shop? Failing that, if the will was there to do it, I may be able to set-up a proper job with online catalogue/secure ordering/credit cards etc. The start-up costs would be minimal.

What do we think?

The problem with online sales is not so much the internet side of things, it's ensuring that any online shop reflects the stock situation in the shop on the ground so to speak... For example I understand that the initial stock of replica shirts in a couple of sizes has already sold out after just a couple of days of sales...

Plans are afoot to sell replica shirts and possibly one or 2 other items via an online shop using paypal to handle the money side. However this will not be done until the stock situation in the shop at New Lodge has settled down... The new shirt has proven very popular..

The other thing I would point out is that the costs involved, both in time and money will be passed on to the purchaser, and will result in, percentage wise, a not insignificant price increase on top of a replica shirt. Obviously these things will be worked out depending on what part of the world you live in, and by which route we send them...

Simon, I don't understand you logic,

If we have an item for sale, then it should be available to anyone and everyone, and if its sold out, then its sold out. First come, first served.

BUT... I don't see the need for an online shop as such, well, not unless we win the FA Cup this season or get promoted straight into the football league.

The amount of sales via the online shop would not make it financially or time viable...IMO

And considering that the club is the ONLY "organisation" that promotes the Town "badge" in Billericay, it won't just be the Americans...Ozzies as well.

Every now and then, the Rounnd Table and / or Rotary Club do some sort of "holiday" link between the residents of Billerica in the USA and some of the residents come over to re aquiant themselves with their "roots". Four years ago (could be five), the BTSA contacted both local organisations to enquire if the visitors would be interested in coming down the club (Andy Turner was Chairman at the time), with an eye to marketing...

I can't remember if we had any success but I believe we did sell some stuff in the High Street when they were about...they were quite chuffed about it as well.

TC/Gazza,..sorry guys but I think you are still missing the point...attached is an email i sent to Joe who had already responded to bilboy.."Joe,Thanks for that ..the last time I commented on the "poor" website I was shouted down by a number of regulars..they did not seem to get it that when you are overseas you can't just walk in to the club shop!

A few years back the site had the full list of items for sale and I think a email contact address..I did buy a "probably the best team in Essex" tshirt(which I still where with pride!) this way..why the shop can only show the one item for sale (and is it right that it is cheaper to buy the replica shirt if you are not a member rather than the other way round?....)is beyond me..would appreciate if polo shirts/t shirts car stickers etc available and if I get a bundle the sort of postage costs and payment details..paypal?...

regards,

Reg..ps draw with swifts a fair result according to their site...fair to you guys?"...ok TC/Gazza I want a green & blue tshirt with the full squad names on the back in FB size..oh hang on there isn't one for sale..as there is no list of items how the hell can I put an order in???..when I arrived in the colony they confiscated my crystal ball!!..such is sarcasm eh?...Finisterre, just hope you can drag the others into the 21st century with online sales or at least a list of items for sale..I know that this forum can be used for orders but really there should be a better way to deal with such matters be it via ebay or whatever.. oh well no doubt a few other members are now upset that a person who supported the side for 30 years prior to my move to sunny oz dares suggest that "all is not rosy"...good luck to the team on saturday V. Harrow, thank goodness for the internet!!

SO Reg. its a replica shirt, a polo shirt and a car sticker, you want? if you had, on the several times I suggested it, given us a clue as to what it is you wanted to buy, It would have been dispatched by now.

Replica home or Away shirt £25.00, White Polo Shirt £15 and a car sticker £3.50

Total cost is £43.50 + Shipping

Just confirm the order with Home or Away, and let us know your size and I will get the items shipped.

Or are you just a Tyre Kicker Reg?

If you want to know what the shirts look like, then just ask and we will send you a pic

If you want to know what's on the car sticker then just ask, and we will tell you.

If you want a stock list, then just ask and we will send it.

It really is that easy!

TC..you have still not grasped the plot have you?....people want to know what's on sale..be it me,Fred in USA or Chung in Bradford...the home site does not give any details and is the "window" to the world of sales..am I to presume that you are willing to send the same details out on each request rather than try to get the club shop on the TOWN site to show what is available..in these days of club merchandising Billericay are still a long way behind other clubs..I did mention in a previous email that someone should have a look at the Garforth Town /Bognor Regis sites as examples especially the latter which seems to be pretty basic but infomative...as for your now infantile remarks re "tyre kickers" I am on the side of Billericay and I thought that you would also want the club to be a successful merchandiser..Finistere has the idea re ebay/paypal ...come on lets get into the 21st century!!..by the way, please email me a list of whats available, sizes price how to pay etc and finances willing I will order something if only to placate you!!

Guys..lets put a stop to this bickering eh?...we're sounding more like chelmo#@$% fans!!!all I ask is that someone sits down and looks at all the possibilities available for marketing for Town on the world wide web..not sure how many ex pats in oz are from Billericay or are that interested/bothered about non league football...I know I do as again I have made previous comments on my views on the so called "professional" game..however BTFC does need to look at these marketing possibilities as there is a whole big world of dollars and sterling out here..TC..hopefully when I get a chance to meet you face to face we can have a damn good chat(and maybe a beer or 20 in the Crown!)and as mentioned before I would hope that Ryan can vouch for my passion for the club..John I did get your email and I tried to reply to it and it bounced back to me with a "fatal" error!..as I am in Oz it may be that I need the whole.co.uk etc thing so if you can send me the address again I will ems you..I would point out that the last item I bought was with your assistance( the probably best team in essex t shirt) and I was very grateful on that occasion..if I recall you even took aussie dollars to pay for it..hence the need for paypal/ebay involvement...I cannnot assist in setting these things up as I don't have the techinical knowledge but I'm sure that there must be some "computer geeks" (& I use the term in a positive not derogatory manner) who could set something up?!!..C'mon Town lets be successful on AND off the field!!!
