Steve unfortunately sustained a broken leg 30 mins into the game today and will be out for the rest of the season.

 

He has a fractured left Tibula and Fibula and has already had minor corrective surgery to straighten the leg. On Monday Steve will undergo further surgery to have rods and pins inserted to ensure the leg heals correctly. He is expected to stay in hospital for 5 days.

 

Goes without saying we all wish Steve a speedy recovery.

 

Not that it's important now but the final score was Basildon United res 2-1 Waltham Forest res.

Apparently Steve often comes home with a broken leg, unfortunately this time it was his own!!!

Steve was operated on this afternoon (Tuesday) to reset his bones. Everything fine and he was in remarkably good spirits considering!! May be sent home on Wednesday.

I still lurk on here but just don't have much to contribute at the moment. Just like the Bees! The way that the fixtures are set will probably see you at the back end of the year. Having said that, may pop over on the 15th as we have a free Saturday!!

Good to see Hickey back in the dressing room last night at Dag & Red, allbeit on crutches, joining in the dressing room banter.
