'But At Ricay today V Leyton..510. And V City on Monday...1572. Not rocket science is it lads'

Bigdaddy would you rather watch a thrilling local derby or your team playing lower league opposition? Its the case with every club that for the bigger games they will get more fans. You got more away fans against us because of the same reason. So you cant compare the home crowd size against the likes of leyton to the game against chelmsford town.

The above would suggest that that there were 700 Urchins on Tuesday (based on the estimated 300 Riccy fans - not bad although it was the first away game of the season and only 20 mins down the road), but i can assure you there certainly wasn't 700 on Saturday against City. There were at least 250 City fans (probably more) which i think is fairly good. In the first half we were spread about watching the action (most of which was in Hornchurch's half) but in the second half the majority of the City fans (except old boy's and families) filled up the covered terrace. My uncle who is a Hornchurch fan said there were 3 times as many City fans in under the terracing so the quote of only 100 city fans is ridiculous.

As for the claim that Hornchurch and Riccy will be fighting for the title, that is also ridiculous. Riccy will certainly be there (v solid defence and scoring plenty of goals - that was tough to admit) but Hornchurch will stuggle to make the play offs. You barely deserved a point yesterday, let alone 3, and it was our inability to take the the many chances we created that cost us. Maybe the tactics you used was a one off (to stop us playing) but on yesterday's evidence i thought you were poor.

That said, i hope you do reach the playoff's because it is nice to see the Essex's sides going well and top marks on your baremaids and burgers too.

As i said, i got the figures from a Hornchurch fan sitting on the other side of the ground.

There were only around 100 (if not less City fans) in the eastside for the first half for sure, but in the second half there were a lot more. There were also plenty of City fans dotted around the ground in the various stands.

Well done on your Victory and there is no need to swear at me (even if covered by **'s) just because you don't agree with something i've said.

We are obviously never going to agree because your gate was 800 odd so that means that there was only 300 odd on the whole eastside of the ground!

Not all our away fans wear footie shirts so I wouldn't assume that all the non city shirt wearing attendees were all Hornchurch fans (casing point is that out of the 6 people i attended the game with, i was the only one wearing a city shirt).

Agree on the talk about crowds usually but i posted to defend my club after posts knocking our away support which a lot of clubs (Conference National included) would kill for. The original reply to the post said only 100 City which simply wasn't the case.

I notice that the talk of crowds hasn't cropped up once on the Soapbox after Saturday's game but was brought up here by a Riccy fan so which are the fans always going on about crowds? I would like to point out that for a small town, i think Riccy's support both home and away is excellent and in terms of % of population is way better than what most of Non League acheives.
