Slough Town 1-4 Fleet

oh!and one other thing,Fleet only played better and scored when Adam Wallace left the field injured.Andy Sinton[Fleet manager] should be counting his blessings because if he[Wallace] had stayed on the pitch, our creaky defence were doing okay and may have held Fleet up from scoring!!!and may have nicked a goal up the other end, ourselves.Luck certainly doesn't appear to be on Slough's side,at the moment.

Tom- I did put them into paragraphs but for some strange reason they seem to disappear when I submit my reply!

I appreciate the work you do for the Trust Martin, but i don't think criticising players during the game really helps.

Speaking to Steve Daley in the bar afterwards he knew about the criticism on the web etc and said he was willing to chat to supporters after the game. Again, tho quite a few of the players praised the support again.

So what i propose is that 10 minutes before the game on Saturday we start to make some noise in the stand and really get behind the team when they come out and at least for the beginning quarter of an hour of the game.

I know in an earlier thread Graham said it was hard to keep the vocals going when we are always losing, but we managed in the second half of last season when we are getting thrashed.

We can't affect the management decisions or which players are picked or where they play, but we can affect the atmosphere and help boost the confidence of a squad in serious need of a pick up.

The off field developments are looking promising at the moment but another drop down the leagues would be a disaster. I think as supporters we can help stop that happen.

The thing is in the second half of last season we never stood a chance so we knew we were going to lose every game. This season I expected us to be around the mid table mark. Now we are only just in September and we are out of the cup - a great way of earning money for the club - and are bottom the league. We have not looked like winning or keeping a clean sheet for a very long time. That has to be because the players on the pitch aren't up to it.

I'd love to get a good atmosphere going but I find it tiring to gee myself up to do it when we get so little back in terms of entertainment. I'm not convinced the whole fan power thing has any effect or why would we get regularly turned over by teams whose fans could literally have come in a taxi?

Come on Martin, how can you say the whole fan power thing does not work? Why do England players implore the crowd to crank up the noise. On a lower level i remember a Sussex County team complaining that the supporters of Burgess Hill were like a 12th man for their team and they only ever had about 10-15 people making any noise.

I agree its hard work when we aren't playing well, but we haven't really got behind the team this season for any length of time. What have we got to lose apart from our tonsils?

It wasn't good by any means. The decisions regarding subs, and player posititions etc have been farcical.

I was a bit peed off with the stick Woody was getting. He is a Left back, and he was the only in the second half who seemed to be trying to get crosses in. Fair enough, most were sheit, but he was trying, most of the play seemed to come through him.

Not saying he was our best player, but he was getting unfair stick. So he went down injured, and some of our wise fans 'knew' it was just so he didn't have to chase back...he went off with that injury, what a faker eh? The important question should be that, as full back, why was he doing the crossing, 'cause Lucas certainly wasn't crossing th blo0dy thing! Yes, when lucas tired(which he was bound to do after just coming back from injury) the management should have done something about it, at least woody was trying. Blaming him won't help.

He WAS injured for most of last season, and before that injury he was one of our better players. He, in fact, never buggered off to another club, and when his injury cleared, he was back training with us, trying to get fit before the end of the season, which didn't happen. Two players have told me this.

Some 'Deick heads' starting shouting things like "ah cup tied now woody'. If he was worried about that, I'm sure he would have been "WORKING". He had a good game at Paulton, which most of you never saw. The cup tied business.......nobody moaned at Alex Haddow for not wanting to play in the FA cup in his first season here,(though he soon changed his mind when we started winning) in case he got cup tied, and am I the only one who thinks it's strange that Terry wasn't there on sat?! Oh, I forgot, certain players can do what they want!

Him and Daly seem to be getting most of the stick...lets be fair to these two veteren defenders, after all, you are all on here saying tactics, positions are not right, and then give most abuse to these two! Are they picking the team? NO

Charles should have been up front, and was usually

helping out Harper. Lucas, who I normally like, did F all, and most of the work down that flank was done by woody. Metz was crap again, and that left George again.trying to do all the midfield work, no wonder the poor lad got over run...... which left the defence exposed, where Daly and Woody play!

Sorry, pissed off, just think SOME of the comments about SOME of the players are way off.

It was crap saturday, if i were to give marks out of ten, none would get past a '5', so I am not saying everything is Rosey. We need a Management brain on the bench, and we need new players, not ex rebels..........what next Alexis and Leech coming back? Bushey and Clement?!

I seriously dislike Leon Woodruff. I had to sit with him in a room before the Worthing game last season and he made some comments which were totally out of order. He then buggered off for six months. We have never had an explanation for that. Now that it seems regular wages have returned he is suddenly back at the club turning up every week when not "injured" or "ill". I don't think he should be welcomed back with open arms. I don't think that he is that good that past deeds should be forgiven so easily. Wilko was in the room and appeared almost as disappointed with the comments Woody made as I was. Clearly he doesn't bear grudges but I am not so forgiving. So yes I do single him out for criticism and yes it is personal.

Like your honesty Martin, actually wasn't on about you!

I know woody can be a knob and has a big mouth. Nor past deeds be forgotten, but we have let people back before, or had people nobody wanted (Jarvis) and given benefit of doubt. Saying that, if it is personal (as my hatred for Lee Dixon is!!), then I understand entirely

Well I was certainly chipping in with the criticism of him particularly on Saturday. In my eyes I don't think he will ever be able to do much right and that is down to the past event I've eluded too.

When I was a student at Leicester, I was slightly worse for wear and half blind after an incident with my spectacles and was watching Leicester take on Arsenal at Filbert Street. I've never liked Lee Dixon and thought I would take this opportunity to share it with him so leapt up from seat to shout some abuse only for him to lash in a goal from twenty yards. Probably one of only 4 in his career. Brilliantly it was picked up on the mike for MOTD. Awesome.

I can assure you RR that the money has been paid in full as I have counted it and passed it on for the two weeks we have paid the players thus far. A wage has been indicated for each player by Darron and this has been paid to players each week.

I repeat again, there is no money issue at the club.
