I think it will be a tight tense affair on the pitch with much wringing of hands and biting of nails....I also think it will be a good day for the fans and the guys down at the club have worked hard to accomodate the expected influx of fans from both sides...even a seperate terrace bar has been installed allowing for the weather forecast being correct and sunny....extra volunteers have been drafted in to ensure swift service for the visiting hordes and an indian maharaji transendental meditation guru is on standby in case peter foster has an anxiety attack after the urchin victory.... grin

it will be a good day in urchinville... yay

Since you asked Unc, friendly at New Lodge abt 3 seasons back...
a 3-0 City win...

the last game i can remember between the two sides was years ago in an FA Cup preliminary game,i think the winners would of played barnet and i think it was the year barnet won promotion to the football league.I think it was 3-1 to chelmo(i know they won)but i think it was quite close 1-1 with about 20 mins left.

If i remember rightly there were far more chelmo fans in the ground than hornchurch but it was a healthy crowd.

If i had to guess the year i would say 1991-92ish.

P.S.It may of been around the same time as romford groundshared with us.

I remember going to that game, it was in 1990. The reason I remember is because I went to the FA Cup final a few months earlier which was refereed by Alan Gunn. The next FA Cup game I went to was Hornchurch v City which was also refereed by Alan Gunn.
Don't think it would happen now.

yep thats right.Am i also right in thinking the gate was around 600 or was it nearer 200 and was it 3-1, i know chelmsford had over 100,possibly alot more but at the time we was getting about 80-100 a game sometimes a little more and it seemed like a large gate to me.It was the first time i stood on the eastside as i was a riverside kid although we didn't call them those names the riverside was the "wooden benches" and the Eastside was the "concrete bit"
