First 25 minutes,excellent..real spring in the step.lots of good movement,Steve Jones looking as if he has benefited from the break..played really well and benefited from the good support from the new guy Vinnie whose physical presence and ability to hold the ball looks very promising.

Then the free kick.....and how the heads dropped..really knocked the stuffing out of us.Their 2nd goal..nobody could have stopped that.

Start of second half... superb first 15 minutes,really unlucky..had the goal have gone in which hit the bar (and how we missed the rebound i will never know) then I think we could have got a draw.

Look,lets for once get real.We played an excellent team,we matched them for most of the game.Our "new man" in defence was magnificent,in Vinnie Johns we at last look to have some more physical support for Jones.

Danny Benstock and Steve Jones had their best matches for a long time and Joppo,who for once had a stinker,will be back to his best soon.

From the debris of this defeat we can take heart..and Wealdstone and Harlow lost.Now is the time to battle it out,lets try and get a settled back four (I think Cripps is a fabulous player but McGowan should be back in his old position) and then watch us go.The end is not quite as nigh as we thought....and a message to Mick Marsden..as certain as Friday follows Thursday you will still be manager next year..

fantastic report,how does it feel living in cloud cuckoo land,you must of been in essex watching that game because thats the only way you could of done a report like that,you were bloody awful admit it jones and john were both crap.

what is your problem camel, the game was okay and was a tale of 2 free kicks, thst it really, i thought we were the best team for the first 20 min and again from 46 to 65min, we lost they won, we move on with another 36 points to play for, thanks for your interest in our weekend, we've also done a report on your game,

whose blinkers appear to be superglued to your eyes,I took my blinkers off.

Its very easy to start sloganising and say the Urchins were

rubbish,the boss must go but why not call as we see.

I repeat this was a good Hornchurch performance against an

excellent Northwood who will deserve to be champions and in footballing ability are on a different planet to wobbly Wealdstone.

Vinnie Johns was lively,commanding in air and when he plays

in a more out and out forward role will prove a very dangerous foil to Steve Jones,whose tireless running,courage in the air and belief in the cause sends out a warning that

its not over till the fat lady sings,,she may,in the case of Hornchurch,be clearing her throat,going through her words but she has not sung yet !!
