Erm....YES,I,I,I mean NO...Doh!! It's no disrespect to Dorking but Bookham are not going to merge with any team, as a club we have something like 25-30 teams in total from U7's to seniors.

In the number of players and teams at Bookham, YES we are bigger, in the footballing history no. I have not said we are more fashionable than Dorking that is down to players and supporters to decide.

Would Dorking want to merge with Bookham, no I dont think so but never say never. wink

Park boy I just wondered what brought you back on here at the end of August? Was it just Bjr's picture of the crystal ball?

And Teflon how can you say Bookham are bigger?

Dorkings affiliated clubs and teams are legion, there must be a thousand and one players attached to the club one way or another.

Brockham badgers, dorking girls dorking youth dorking colts dorking saints, dorking Market....

SF.

I'm a bit out of touch with the Under 18's lads. I last spoke to their manager at Meadowbank a fortnight ago.

I understand they are pretty good. A couple of 'em come from the estate where I live, so I have a bit of an interest there.

Some of them usually come into Meadowbank on a Tuesday evening after training if there's a game on.

I'll see what I can find out for you.

Hi TSF, if you look at it like that then yes you could be right, but I am not going to stand there and count them all wink

These clubs are all associated to Dorking while at Bookham they are under one umbrella, although run by 2 committees and many different training venues and home pitches.

In the end both clubs are there to serve the communities.

I would tend to agree that Bookham are a bigger club than Dorking due to the fact that they have all the youth teams, reserve sides that play under the name Bookham, they seem to be a well run club. They just need to get their own ground, what about going to Mole Valley Predators ground?

Spursman - Yes it was the picture of the crystal balls, I can always sense them.

Always have loads of gossip about local football in Surrey and Sussex just can't always tell people.

And before anyone says it I will not be saying anything about the situation between Dorking Football club and the Council apart from I think it is shocking that the council have left the club in limbo still with the lease. Either sort it out or shut up.

Which 2 teams do you think might go down this year?

I hear the league do not know yet if any team or teams will get promoted this season, that again is shocking and know wonder people think the Combined Counties is a joke compared to other leagues.

park boy , I hope you dont mean no promotion out of the ccl prem?

And as for prom/rel between the divisions! Should be decided on results on the pitch, who gives a "" how many seats there are etc.

BJR

Thanks Id like to know.

I think the manager is an old mate of mine, and sadly the youth side are my generations kids so I am interested. Cant you poke someone in the eye to do an update on the web? Still just says about the badgers on the youth side, "Manager steve Lunn and badgers chairman Hugh Cannon", all a bit out of date now.

I think a lot of stuff is out of date nowadays.

There is a fair chance I'll bump into, (not literally), the Under 18's Manager on Tuesday evening if I can get there for the second half of Bookhams game after the Girls training session elsewhere !

If so, I'll ask him to try and update the situation for you all.
