Swifts 1-1 Town

Recommended Posts

Our losing streak has ended! Draw probably a fair result over the 90 mins, we had most of the 1st half and took the lead but couldn'ts score the 2nd goal (again) and Heybridge came out fighting 2nd half and grabbed a late (88th min) equaliser.

Given all the problems we've had over the past week or two with players leaving etc the team dug in and battled well. A slightly odd formation with Morris and Savidge starting and soon-to-leave Fewings and R.Graham on the bench. Morris got stuck in well and made some good tackles. Douglas scored our goal with an excellent finish - 4 goals in 7? games now for him. Defense looked pretty solid aprat from their goal with Gilley returning to replace Moore.

Team

JJ, Williams, Kerrigan, Gilley, Adedeji, Savidge (Alexander), Penn, Douglas, Ansell (Fewings), M.Graham, Morris

i thought a draw was probably a fair result altho mebbe we just shaded it...good finish from duggy and the team did ok considering the circumstances. i thought heybridge were a poor side tho and think they may struggle to avoid the drop.

i have also heard from an "ex-player" that Calder has made a substantial cash input into the club. i think comment on team selection or tactics etc is fair enough , lets face it we are all pretend managers, but you have to applaud his blind (and probably mad) act of faith. The real answers have to come from upstairs.

It is important that we continue to support all the playing staff ..lets hope for a win tuesday

cmon the blues!!

Yes agree with all JL said, I also thought Heybridge were a poor side however from their program they appear to have more money than us splashing out on new signings.

However it is all very well spending money but you still have to create a team just look at Grays.

Have to also mention the superb finish by Andy Douglas yesterday, a goal created from nothing.

If that is the case then power to him. I think people would have a kinder view of him if they knew this but then again, where does the information stop. People continue to say this is our (the supporters) club and then we are not informed of the present situation. Almost a conspiracy of slience.

I, and others, would have a better view of the club and it's management if we were told the facts. Rumours are not the best way of getting information. An example of that is that I heard that the club would be bankrupt by Easter in the pub on a Friday night. My reaction was "Wot the.........". Wether this was true or not (I suspect not true), my reaction was not good.

I think that some axes need to buried. Rod has always maintained that if people ask him, he will answer, usually at the ground when he is wandering about. Perhaps we should do that more often. Personally I know he isn't an ogre 'cos of the way I used to ask him questions a couple of seasons ago.

Ahhhhh, well, maybe tonight...
