I saw the second half of St Mags V Welwyn, scrappy affair and some very interesting poor refereeing. Highlight had to be a long clearence down the line hitting the lino on the head and knocking him over.

 

Saints Steve Barker was kicked and elbowed all through the half with the ref ignoring it and he received two yellows, first deservedly for a rash (out of frustration) tackle but the second was an innoculous trip that a Welwyn player had gone unpunished for just a minute before.

There were some very odd results - now there are only 3 teams yet to lose a game - should make for a good season.

There was also a player injury at Harefield, but the game was restarted after 41 minutes, and Hanwell got a very late winner.

I had seen Cheshunt Reserves twice towards the end of last season and was impressed by their football so decided to check them out last night.

Really good game played at a high tempo up until the injury.

The ref at the above game was shocking - keeper ends up with fractured ribs after a collision with the Harefield player (which the Harefield player could have avoided) and he gives a drop ball because he didn't see anything! Mind you can't complain about the free kick he gave for our winner. Good even game which was fiercely contested, perhaps more fiercely by Harefield...
