Till something goes tits-up then they come running for Tam . . . 'they're having trouble with the Guiness Tam, can you sort it out'.

Ditto to your Bloody Farce Mark!

News Update

Towards the end of last Season the Chairman of Margate Football Club met with the Chairman, Vice Chairman and Treasurer of MISA to discuss the role of the Social Club once the 5 a-side centre was operational. MISA felt that the commitment to continue running the social club would be more than they could manage and as such they offered to step aside at the end of the 2006/7 Season.

MISA asked to continue to run the food outlets in the ground and this was agreed on the same basis which they had run them last year, in that they provide a return to the Club after each game.

Despite requests from the Club Chairman we have received no accounts for any of the matches which have taken place since 21 July 2007.

The Club felt that this situation was no longer tenable and therefore had no choice but to remove this responsibility from MISA and bring the running of the food outlets back in-house.

The club Chairman and Directors are also aware of a division forming between MISA and the Club and hope that, with this conflict of interests removed, MISA can now look to focus their attentions, along with their new fund raising committee, on ‘working with the Club, for the Club’ as their motto suggests.

Maybe M.I.S.A should give a statement out to give their side of the story on this.

Watch out for the £4 burgers & £1.50 cups of tea, coming our way!

Well the bar prices certainly shot up, last season I paid £1.60 for a pint of orange juice and lemonade, now its £2.45!!! The profit on that must be exortinate as pumped lemonade is really cheap as is a box of orange juice.

Thats the last time I buy anything from the burger bars or bar at HDP...disgusting treatment of its most loyal supporters...doesn't surprise me one bit though, it's what our club has come to these days.

Everyone has a slightly different perspective here, and in fairness i am not a regulat user of the catering facilities;but i do remember commenting last sason that i could not believe how cheap it was to get a cup of coffee and prices should be raised.

If you raise your prices by 20% and your gross profit is 30%,then you would need to lose 40% of your customers before being worse off !!!

Maybe we need to look at the wider picture-i believe admission prices have stayed the same for two years;and if indeed catering prices are slightly more, and the club make a bit more money-maybe some may find its way to funding a new central defender- is that not better than the club making less money and possibly not surviving.

Of course, the ideal scenario would see the club developing the ground with a proper stand at along the current changing room side; incorporating a new bar and small conference facility, which the club then utilises as a direct income stream;whilst giving back the hartsdown road facility to MISA for them to run that again, for the good of the club.

This is Stokesie1, unfortunatly not on my own login!

Having just read the 'comment' that has been made by MFC I am both saddened and angered by the way that MISA have been treated. As secretary of this commitee for the past two years I feel that this pretty much sums up the directors and the hang ons. Never once have we recieved a personal thanks for the hard works and efforts made by MISA, mostly Tam, Dave and Melvin and their work running the bar and making it presenatable for fans on a match day, I have loved every minute working behind that bar and being a member of something so worthy. I think its about time the fans of Margate are told the truth about what is truly going on behind the closed doors and how greedy certain members of the club are actually getting. Never now will you see me behind that bar again being treated in a way which no person deserves. MISA are here to do one thing and that is to support the club, isn't it about time certain club officials gave us a bit of well deserved credit. If the club carry on like this they will lose all support and trust from the community.
