Attitude.

Well done to Sudbury today.

They showed a positive attitude to the game and clearly wanted to win.

Town on the other hand, showed a very negative attitude right from the start with a defencive Team selection and in my opinion it just went down hill from there.

Playing Stevens as a deep midfielder ( almost as a back 5 player ) left Town with just 3 in midfield and it was clear to all that it did not work.

Sudbury dominated the play and Town could only resort to long HIGH balls up to the front two.

Unfortunately, Ricci was about 12 inches shorter that the Sudbury number 6 which gave him an easy afternoon. Why oh why not play the ball to Ricci's feet ?

The attitude, even noted in the programme by JC, was that we don't want to lose.

It should have been WE WANT TO WIN.

Even at 0 - 0 and the crowd calling for a change, ( like Edmonds coming on for an unfit Ricci ), JC replaced players with negative tactics to "hold the game" rather than WIN it.

Poor attitude + negative play + poor tactics = 0 points.

Overall, better more positive attitude from the Management required.

Only my view - and what do I know, I am only a supporter.

On the day - well done Sudbury.

Jim went 4 at the back, which to be fair,is what a lot of fans wanted to see.OT,you are correct in saying that Stephens didn't work as a holding midfielder.I believe that was mainly down to Kevins lack of fitness rather than anything else. The game went on around Rudi,as happens a lot on hard pitches.I thought playing Nay,Campbell on the right was a sound decision, although it din't work out as Campbell seemed below par today.Crace and Hammett were chasing long balls into he corners. They are exactly the sort of players that you wouldn't want in role. Both lacking the pace and physical presence required for that job. They are Goalscorers, poachers and one-two merchants. They need the ball to feet, or crosses played low into them, in-and-around the box.
