SEASON AHEAD

Last night we were brought back to reality. I fear this season is going to be a real struggle. If we dont pick up at least 3 points from the next 2 games heads will drop in the team and crowd and I fear a relegation battle could be on. I hope not. On the Wealdstone Forum they are saying we just lost lost to Wimbledon but bring on Margate Already it seems that we are no longer reqarded as a treat in this League. Just another thought. I know not many of you liked Bagly He is just an ok type of player who made a few mistakes but at least half the players at the club are the same. No better or worse. Trott says he was not going to play as much this season but he has featured in both games so far. Does this not tell us we are . . short of players or he doesnt trust some of the ones we have. So why let Bagly go.

Lets not get too pessimistic too early, we are only two games into the season and it is too early to know where we will finish come April, but we must believe now that we can fight our way into the play offs.

Lets not forget (although admittedly I was not there so cannot comment too much) we had a very respectable draw against Chelmsford on Saturday, and a side does not change in class and quality in just three days. Last night we played badly and things did not go our way, so all credit to ETU as they took their chances.

But we must believe surely that last night was just a blip and that normal service will be resumed at Wealdstone, as we know we can play well as a side. To be fair to Trotty, he had to play himself on Saturday as to cover in Saunders' absence. But I do think we need to have someone on the sidelines to oversee things if possible. At this early stage of the season lets stay optimistic about our chances, learn from our mistakes, by all means feel hurt by defeat as I am after last night, but also look on to the next game with hope and belief.

So I say, we lost to East Thurrock, but bring on Wealdstone!

Up the Gate!

Must say I agree with you there Michael, so Jay can be realeased into midfield. We might actually have one in Mark Watson as I believe he can play there too, certainly has the experience.

I do wonder whether RT is thinking of that; but whilst he can play there, i don't think he is 'experienced' at playing there;so would we be back to the Jay scenario.

Equally, i don't think Watson is the quickest guy around;and is he a bit injury prone?

A good edition, but i think its such a vital role-and the one missing piece in the jigsaw-that its worth getting a real experienced quality defender in (Sapps back on loan as he does not seem to be featuring at Boston ?.Sam Sodge did similar 5 seasons ago and rejoined for the third game ).

The annoying thing, is that it has been blatantly obvious since May
