Hodgey with the 1st goal and Wareham with the 2nd. Another very good performance by the lads against a much better side than we faced on saturday (no disrespect to hastings). Two stunning goals and a resilient defence earnt us a very good result. yay Bad news being what looked like a serious injury to gameo ... anyone with any other news on that?

A solid performance I thought. The game was always going to be tough but two wonderful goals from Hodges and Wareham gave us the edge.

Having read some of the comments above, it does seem that some people from Upminster are trying to excuse the tackle that brought Gameo down by suggesting that it's nothing as he'll heal in weeks and be back playing - so no harm done? Utter bollox!!! It was a disgusting tackle that should've had the Ref reaching for his red card...

I wish Gameo a swift and full recovery.

thats not the case gaz....you were 50 yard away and could not have seen it clearly ...we were level with the incident and all of us thought it was pretty innocuous at the time as indeed we did when jimmy broke his leg in a similar situation last saturday...

having said that I speak for us all here when I wish the lad the very best and let's hope he is back soonest....

well done last night.... it was a big result...

First and foremost, best wishes to you Gamo. I think the lads went out in the second half with you in mind.

Anyway, a very good result in what has not been a happy stomping ground in recent times. We have got the boost of gaining that away victory (and on a Tuesday) !

Well, all i can say is that it was ANOTHER Billericay TEAM performance. All round the park they worked their socks off, from Bradders who was everywhere chasing down to Billy who swept up at the back in goal. Heffs and the rest at the back did a full on holding job ! Well done lads.

Midfield was where the battle was won. Inteligent passing across the pitch on the ground was a great tactic to keep the ball whenever they could.

Up front our lads worked and worked to keep hassling the Hornchurch back line, and never gave up those so called lost chases.

I would sum up and say it was more of a hard working performance. Nothing fancy - Just that EVERYONE knew their job and stuck to it.

As for the goals ! Hodgey and Wareham - You little beauts ! Both goals were superb strikes! Cheers lads. wink Obviously, we all know about Hodgey but a little special mention to Wareham. He is settling in more and more, and i think at the end you could tell how much that goal meant to him and to (us) the fans.

As for Hornchurch, well they will be a solid team i feel and not many will get too much change out of them, which makes last night an even better performance.

Still, it is only another game - And Saturday our lads (and us) fans need to be another unit. At the end of the day, if we win - draw or lose we ALL stick together.

Well done Lads ! applause2

Good point about Dave Warehams goal Keith. It hasn't been mentioned enough so far. A great strike. Well done Dave, lets have some more!

Fair enough UU but to suggest that "oh, he'll get better in a couple of weeks" is a bit dismisive...

Still, that was last night....Doesn't help Gamo though who quite probably is still in some discomfort.

Anyway, onwards and upwards. Lets deal with the here and now. Good luck for the rest of the season.

yes.... if that was said its pretty poor but I'm sure that our lot.. upon understanding the severity of the injury.. felt for the lad...no one likes to see that happen to any player....I had fckn murders getting the ambulance as well...christ talk about 20 questions.....not good and it was well over half an hour before it came....

but as you say....ho hum we all must move on...good night at the bridge if not a classic but we're back and we'll get ya before the end of the season.... grin

well done again and good luck...

The Gameo incident was right in front of me, imo It wasn't malicious, clumsy yes, but not a red card.

Result aside, I was pleased with other aspects, when away its important the the emphasis is on defense and we were solid, I think I'm right in saying that Hornchurch didn't have a shot in the second half.

Hornchurch were combative, strong, and well organised, as you would expect from a Colin McBride side.

We matched them physically and looked very strong.

Two games in and we have had five different scorers, it was the quality in depth that won us the game yeasterday.

And as Keith has mentioned, we work very hard as a unit.

Hornchurch are a very good side, so to go there and win to zip is a massive result. Our lads will take a lot of confidence from last nights game.

Next up...Carshalton.

It was an excellent result for us last night, but I'm absolutely gutted for Gameo.

Carshalton will be another very tough game, especially now our squad looks a bit stretched already.

i have to agree,i usually wince when i see a bad challenge on us or our opponents but the tackle on your lad was at worst clumsy and for him to break his leg is unlucky.I do think the victimising of our number 7 is a tad over the top but i am sure had it been the other way round some urchins may have the same views as some of you.I think because of the injury many people have viewed the incident in a completely different light than had he just got up and walked off.

Crossy is a hard working player and an honest one at that and there was no malice on his behalf. There were just 22 players committed to winning the ball last night and there were far worse challenges by both sides players than that incident.

BTW The ref is still poo
