Tne Beaconsfield Experience - Your Thoughts

Hospitality excellent. Food good, even had stuff for vegetarians!

More tables and chairs put out in the bar; covering and terracing behind the far end goal and some covering for the poor sods in wheelchairs that got soaked yesterday!

It felt like home, with the clubhouse buzzing before and after the game something that never really happened at Windsor.

Given it was a Slough match I wasn't particularly impressed that we kept being asked to give the SYCOB score over the PA. The club shop can only be walked into if you are 4ft tall.

But otherwise very happy, and will be pleased to spend my money in their clubhouse

Noted and definitely being looked in to. The areas will be, subject to permission, between the two dugouts for disabled spectators and an area behind the far end which will be a covered area about the width of the goal.

This is something which we asked during the early stages of discussions and we were assured the field would be ok throughout the winter. The proof will be in the pudding though.

It's a shared hut between the shop and trust, but I was able to get in there, just had to be careful getting in and out. Not much we can do about this one though.

I wouldn't expect this to continue throughout the season. I know Paul Hughes was in attendance receiving the scores from an important game for them, but I do not expect score updates to be happening game to game. We will try to get half time and full time scores from the division and include Beaconsfield's in these where available.

My only issue was with the overflow carpark and getting the pushchair up the narrow muddy track with cars coming in the opposite direction at the end. I guess we will just wait for the crowd to go in future or use the hole in the hedge, but Alfie wasn't too keen on that route the other night. Otherwise it was all good.

I did laugh when the Taunton Chavs started singing "Shall we build a roof for you"

I empathise with the sentiment about covering,up to a point but....I don't recall too much cover at the ends at Stag Meadow either!! Personally I can live without it in the overall scheme of things!

I had never been to the gorund before and was expecting a pitch in the middle of a field, with maybe a ramshackle clubhouse and an 18th century type toilet block...I was therefore very very pleasantly surprised at what greeted me. I thought it was excellent, and the "landlords" certainly seem to appreciate our presence..something which was patenetly not the case at Windsor.

My overall impression of the ground was that it "felt" like a home game, something which was also patently missing during the time at Windsor.

I was pleased to spot a few faces from days of yore, whom I had not seen at a game for quite some time...hopefully we can get some more old timers back on a more regular basis (myself included!)

I agree completely with OSG. We had covering behind the goal and for those who prefer the sidelines the stand does provide some shelter so this is clearly an improvement. The atmosphere was better, it felt more like home. Standing in the bar before and after the game I didn't sense any resentment at all from the people representing SYCOB. I think it could prove to be a very good move and attendance of over 250 was encouraging.
