Corner Practice please

I thought we wer a bit average at both defending and attacking corners yesterday.

 

Chelmsford certainly had a few in both halves.One ot two remarked that in first half they never looked a threat from them.Not sure i entirely agree, and in second half, they were much more of a threat from them and almost scored twice from headers following their corners.

I thought the aerial defenders of Trott and Young were rather static when defending corners ,rather than 'attack' the ball.I also thought SCS should have 'attacked' the ball a bit more.

Think we nee to be more energetic when defending corners.

 

In attack-similar issue-we wait for ball to hit our head, rather than run and attack it.Trott had one header, but for the amount of corners we had, we had minimal goal efforts.

I would say that we picked up the 'second ball' better on the edge of the box when attacking corners , better than last season.

 

Overall, i think we will concede fewer and score more, if we spend time in training on this area of our play; since like last season, it looks like we will get quite a few attacking opportunities from corners this season;and i don't want to see the 'Gate waste the oppotunities like they did last.

I thought we defended corners quite well overall yesterday, but our crossing as a whole was a bit poor yesterday. Got a few good crosses in, but a lot of them were not beating the first man. Don't if the wind was holding the ball up in the air, we will just have to see.
