Lee Protheroe sat at the players table after the game and right in front of us smugly opened his wage packet. All in crisp £20 notes, i helped him count from a distance, but when he got to £800 he noticed me watching checked the rest and put it away, there was at least a grand. On that performance surely not worth that?

Probably not but that aside I thought he had a decent game. A few wayward passes but on the whole he did well.

Brayley,on the other hand didn't get a sniff in in the whole 90 minutes,mainly because Harte kept tabs on him all through & never allowed him to play.He even had to switch wings at one time to try & get into it,& to get away from Harte. Great credit to Stuart.

I thought Brayley played very well,and was helmsford's biggest threat especially in first half.

More a case of honours even i thought between him and Trot who marked him most of the time

Firstly, CCFC always pay their players with Bearer Bonds, and secondly, they don't get paid until Sunday.
The packet which you saw him opening must have been the bung he received from Margate in exchange for having a bad game!

Protheroes corner delivery in second half had us in all sorts of trouble.

 

I see on Chelms forum, a couple voted him their best player on sat.

Good luck to him and hope he has a good injury free season and finishes with Chelmsford, just behind Margate in the league.
