Someone has pointed out on another thread that the attendance at today's Mauritius Sports & Pennant v Beaumont Athletic game, which Beaumont won 3-0, was only 3 (three people), surely that can't be correct.

He missed the midweek game at Cockfosters due to a short holiday, and Louis did well in his place. Guess that's why Dave left Louis with the shirt.

I thought that you would have posted on the Eton Manor Forum recently in order to defend Martin Ash against unwarranted criticism, I'm disappointed in you

Anyway Martin knows who you are, he has told me as you live very close by.

Good start to the campaign by getting off to a win, but we made hard work of it against a Old Bradwell side who looked better than there league placing last season. Both sides had there chances in the first half, where the score could have easily been 2-2 instead of 0-0, after 30 minutes the Bradwell keeper had to go off to be replaced by a 50 year old sub! This affected their confidence for a while and had The 61 had plenty of possesion and a few chances to go with it but failed to convert any.

The goal did finally come though, and we made hard work of it, missing a couple of good chances before Ricky Clarke pocked home from close range. From here on it I expected a routine win, but Old Bradwell come back into it a hit the equaliser, catching us out at the back as Ian Nicholls capatalised on acres of space to beat the keeper.

We really struggled to get going after this, with Bradwell looking the more likely to score, and it was against the run of play when we went back ahead in the 80th min, a ball to the right was picked up by Haydn Wells who burst past the away sides defence before picking out a good finish. A minute later a 61 player went around the keeper but shot wide with the goal gapping and a couple of minutes later a one on one went begging with a shot high and wide as the Bradwell defence fell apart. A third was scored with virtually the last kick of the game, as Kieryon Bonnard went round the keeper, he slotted the ball home to give us a slightly fortuitous 3-1 victory.

Here is a clip of the first goal, only just got it as it went in:

Thanks Paula, as you know I was not at the match today, but I hope to be at the match on Tuesday home to Wingate & Finchley, which is a local derby.

Good win for Canvey, was their a good crowd? their are no attendances up on the Ryman site yet.

Gavin - Canvey's crowd at Northwood was 152 which would indicate quite a few Canvey fans travelled. I thought your crowd of 64 at Potters Bar Town was disappointing but a good win all the same. Dartford's crowd was 947 against Maldon Town where Maldon equalised with virtually the last kick of the game, do you know if away Club's take a cut of the gate as it could be a nice little earner for you when you go there as well as Canvey Island.

I would have thought that someone with your football knowledge would have known that is NOT the case for league games.

Was it just coincidence that you entered the fray today at exactly the same time as Horace. Yes I did suspect that but I just wanted to make doubly sure, that means Dartford are laughing all the way to the bank.
