Not a lot more to add other than the whole team played together. Booty hopefully is a quick healer, but we have attackers of class at this club. Garness is growing in stature each game and i do not think anyone would argue that he deserved his goal. Flacky looked in A1 condition (as did ALL the lads) !

 

Yes, it is only one win, and the lads will need to NOT get carried away - But yes they can certainly take heart from that performance - (I certainly did) - Defensively we were not troubled, but bigger tests will come along. The midfield kept plugging away, and i am pleased for everyone !

 

So WELL DONE lads, a top notch first game.

 

Oh, and a good crowd to start off with. Normally at this time of year there are so many folk away (kids holidays) etc but to have 605 is progress from the last few seasons opening games we have had -

A brilliant Seasons "Opener". And great for three strikers to open their accounts so soon. A real shame about TB's injury as Saturdays brace would hopefully have seen the start of a scoring run. I think we should keep quite about BWG for the time being, element of suprise and all that . Flacky must be chuffed as well to get back amongst the goals so soon.

 

But it was an excellent performance from the whole team (although I think Kerrers must have finished with ear-ache!) with the new faces seeming to be settling in nicely.

Spoke to Booty last night on his visit to Chelmo land.

He is well gutted that he will be out for 3/4 weeks, he was looking forward to the Hornchurch & Chelmsford matches.

I think you were top goal scorers last season BC, so you should see plenty of goals this term.

Nice one TC - but doesn't always work out that way does it?.

 

I can recall a few seasons back when Spurs were beating Man City at half time, 3-0 (in an FA Cup tie I think). Man City had a man sent off at half time, and eventually won the game 4-3. A reduction to 10 men occasionally spurs (excuse the pun) a team into action.

Having watched Ricay at Heybridge last season I can vouch they DO play better with ten.
