Northwood

Yes a very young squad (although they do have a few slightly over 21) who will no doubt be full of running.

Important for us to take control of the game early and play the game in their half, the longer the game stays at 0-0 the more Northwood will fancy their chances, an early goal for us and their heads may drop.

Have a few ex Hayes players. Think Dean Clark is still there who is a decent player at this level.

Won't be an easy game.

Great performance today. Whole back three were excellent and when called upon Ricky was solid in goal.

We dominated the first half and their keeper kept them in it with some decent saves.

Game got a bit scrappy in the second half but Crow settled our nerves with a well taken penalty and after a period of pressure from Northwood we settled the game thanks to Colin Wall scoring from a great cross by Chris Bourne.

Thought Crow was excelllent in midfield. Controlled the game in midfield and defended very well.

Danny Curran did well done the left wing and Westy in for the injured Jon Stuart read the game well and didn't put a foot wrong.

Good to see us keep a clean sheet and also see our defenders get on the score sheet. Seems we can score goals from all over the field.

Couldn't make it to Northwood this afternoon, but glad to hear us getting off to a solid start. First home fixture on Tuesday, I think everyone's really up for it already if we start as we mean to go on.

I went to see the Reserves play Dagenhem yesterday, finished 2-2 with Dagenham equalising in the fourth minute of eight for injury time. Our two goals were both scored by Nicky Reynolds, and quality goals they were too. Mitchell Lowes also played.

Reynolds is a very capable young player, technically very good with bags of potential, hope to see the lad break into the first team.
Good result for the reserves too.

A deserved win against a team who will cause a few clubs problems this season. We never looked in danger at the back but still managed to gift Northwood 2 clear chances which luckily they didn`t take.

Plenty of movement from our forward players who must still be wondering how they didn`t get on the score sheet but it was a real team performance with everybody doing their bit, a very good start to the season.

Don`t think anyone guessed the line-up right (no change there blush )and i wouldn`t be suprised if the line-up changed again for Tuesday with players coming in to vary our pattern of play.

Would say attendance was around the 200-250 mark.
