The Official Slough Town website-update?

When is the STFC website going to be updated.It was said,a couple of weeks ago,by Gary,I think?that it would be ready for start of season.As it's Friday,the day before start of season,aren't we cutting it a bit fine!

Eddie Denton is still in charge on our history page!As it's a new beginning at Holloways Park and new management structure,it would be good to show us supporters,that we really have got things organised for once.

3, if you can send across an updated history for them to use on the website, I am sure they would most appreciate it.

 

They announced an updated version of the site would be ready for tomorrow. If it is not ready, we still have a pretty fine site layout to fall back on. Why the big concern?

Gary,no need to get on your high horse!I'm not looking to stir up trouble,it's just I'm keen to view our player profiles in our new look squad and as I've been looking this past two weeks,I've got a bit frustrated, especially as teams like Burnham have been more accessible with who they've bought and sold,free transfers etc.

As I know absolutely nothing about computers,I couldn't help even if I wanted to but there is no need to get agitated by just a simple enquiry.I have read some of the criticisms from some sections of the fan base about the Trust and management.I do not share their opinion.I just seek for Slough F.C/fans,as a whole, to go forwards rather than backwards.Sorry if you were offended.

3, it's not agitated, it is a standard response to people who are critical of something which they could easily help out with themselves. You do not need to know much about computers to help update the history and email it to the club surely?

 

I appreciate people do want to know this information and the team are working extremely hard to get the site up and running for tomorrow. If it is not available, I will certainly get player information on here in the interim to quench your thirst for information.

Unfortunately we need a bit more time to get the new site ready, and have moved our date back 2 weeks to September 1st.

 

You have to appreciate that we don't want to rush things and have the site up to the highest standard possible before releasing it, which means we have to test it too. Once done, we will have what I and the rest of the website team believe to be the best website in non-league football in terms of access and features.

 

Obviously if there are any features you feel are missing from the current site and want adding into the new one please feel free to let us know.

Chris has been the architect behind the new layout and I have to admit I don't know how he's doing what he's doing, but he has certainly been working very hard on it. It is a completely new system and like any new system, there have been issues and there may well be a few more post-implementation - as the other guys have said, it will just take a bit longer than hoped to get everything up and running to the desired standard.

 

Club history is actually one thing we're working on, along with lots of other stuff. The plan was to update everything in one go, but instead we'll have to fiddle about with updating the current site, which isn't too shabby as it is! The wait will be worth it in the end.
