Close Season-Player movements comings and goings

This is how i summarise the player movements in close season (so far-only 16 hours to go to deadline for saturdays game-will there be a last minute signing ? We need a defender or midfield player

On the left-those who have 'left'

On the right-those who have 'joined' and/or replaced those who have left.

I guess the natural thing to do is to score each player out of 10 and see if we are - on paper anyway-better or worse off.

As i've posted previously, i think RT has done a pretty good job, excepting that there is an imbalance between defenders/midfield -too few and forwards-possibly to many:

Mitten gk. Bowles

Oates defender. Harte def

Donovan def. Young def

Trott def. half a Trott def

Sappleton def. no direct replacement

Protheroe def/mid. no direct replacement

Abbott mid. Yianni mid

Wisker mid. Morris mid

Hockton fwd. Side fwd

Holden fwd. Howarth fwd

----- Axon fwd

----- Akinde fwd

----- Coleman fwd

On a separate issue, am i right that Bagley has not yet signed/been announced as signed .With so many forwards already, i wonder if he will ?

Personally, i hope he does/will/has as it would be good to see someone else come through via the reserves;and with a full season ,he could really develop into something good.

Trotty in todays paper lists both Coleman & Axon as midfielders, probably right & left.

Also mentioned in squad is Nick Moir (Forward) and Mark Watson (Forward) who Trotty says can play at the back too, however he is out for 3 weeks as his arm is in a cast.

So if paper correct we have 21 in the squad.

More good news especially re:Watson imo.

Whilst i can see how Coleman and Axon are classed as midfield players, are'nt they actually wide midfield players ,again leaving us with just Dean and Macca in central midfield.

To be fair, i have not seen Coleman or Axon, but do they track back and do they tackle;or are their stregths going forward.Impression i have is the latter and thus i remain a bit concerned about lack of numbers for central midfield (assumes Jay is in defence )

I think in the last millenium we used to call wide midfield players-wingers.

Its really the middle of the park you need to sew up and control (watch tomorrow-he who controls central midfield invariably wins the game ),and through injury, suspensions, fatigue, we won't get 50 games each out of DS and Macca.
