Bigg Town & Langford 0 - 1 Referee

A most premature decision by the Ref tonight to call off the match at 6.55pm. A big black cloud had just dumped its contents on the pitch in one heavy downpour. It then stopped raining and the puddles on the pitch cleared by 7.25 but the ref was having none of it.

 

No-one very happy and certainly not the Concord Rangers assistant manager and one of their players who had made the journey from Canvey Island to spy on Bigg Town ahead of the FA Cup match this Sunday.

 

Meanwhile Bedford Town Ressis kicked off next door no problem!

Thanks Referee, I was almost there last night with two small grandchildren in tow and then got the call from someone in the team to say there was a bit of a puddle in the middle and it was off. I also understand that the Referee would not discuss his decision with either Manager???, which I found hard to believe. The silver lining may be that we will now play this game at Biggleswade's new ground.

When did the Fixture's Secretary put this game on and when was it known that the pitch wasn't available?

It was provisionally re-arranged immediately after the rather bizarre original match postponement. We were then informed on Sunday that Bedford had their mits on the pitch this week. Fair enough - it is their pitch after all.
