FansFocus.Com Senior Cup Press Release

 

The 2007/8 FansFocus.Com Essex Senior Cup is the biggest yet with 44 sides competing for the prestigious silverware, currently held by AFC Hornchurch following last season’s 2-1 triumph over Great Wakering Rovers in front of over 1,200 spectator’s at Southend’s Roots Hall.

 

Southend themselves are back in the competition following a brief one-year absence, as are Colchester United, who last entered the competition in 1998/9. Clapton are also welcomed back in, whilst Senior League newcomers Mauritius Sports & Pennant are also included.

 

Clapton and Mauritius are in the hat for the first and second round draws which take place on Tuesday, 14 August on BBC Essex.

The draws will take place on the station at 7:20pm.

 

Twenty clubs will do battle in the opening two rounds for the right to play in the third round and a potential big tie.

 

Be sure to tune into 103.5/95.3FM tomorrow evening for the Live draws.
