cip Rods, you never did explain the "gut feeling" that led you to believe that Cockfosters would have difficulty being elected to the Premier Division at the SSML AGM. Would you care to expand upon your theory behind that now? Or the one where you felt that SLeB would struggle to be elected into the League at the same AGM?

Yes fine, there is no secret that Cockfosters must have been as surprised as everybody else when Chalk Lane was rubber stamped for Premier Division football, that was the theory behind my gut feeling, nothing more nothing less. The same principle applied to Sport London e Benfica as my gut feeling was that the SSML would feel that the Club were trying to run before they could walk in applying for Step 6 status, you will recall that I was the first to wish them all the best when their application was nodded through and I'm genuinely happy for them.

Firstly, your "theory" regarding Cockfosters isn't actually a theory at all. Why must Cockfosters have been as surprised as everybody else? What tangible reasons do you have for this?

 

Secondly, regarding SLeB, a side winning a Step 7 League is eligible for promotion to a Step 6 League under the current Pyramid Rules, so why would you have a gut feeling that the SSML would think they were running before they could walk? Nobody would ever get promoted into the SSML on that basis if your gut feeling were correct.
