...attracted a crowd of 691 to York Road for their opening Conference South match against Fisher yesterday. I think this is quite impressive considering Fisher would have had their usual 10-15 there.

 

Maidenhead are flying high at the moment after their promotion, but probably the main reason behind the attendance is that they had an arrangement with the Maidenhead Advertiser to print a voucher in last week's edition offering free entry (worth £9) to this match.

 

What chance a similar arrangement could be made with the Slough Observer - clearly too late for the start of this season - but at some point in the future?
