Sudbury 2 Ricay 2

A strange game really which answered a few questions but probably asked a few too.

In the first half we were very pedestrian in the hot weather and deserved to go in behind. We weren't helped by Burbridge hobbling off yet again after about 15 minutes and Boot was also substituted after half an hour with a nasty looking gash over his eye.

We started a bit better in the second half and Bradley ghosted in at the back post to head home a Wareham free-kick. The game got a bit heated after a challenge by Abbott, which he got booked for. Their 5 got booked shortly afterwards for a crude piece of retaliation. However, the incidents seemed to kick start us into life and we had our best spell of the match with Bradley again finishing well and Leon hitting the goalkeeper from five yards. Their 14 scored a good equaliser after that and finished all square.

Negatives:

First half

Burbo injured again

Delivery from corners

Positives

When the game got competitive we looked a league above.

We looked fit.

Bradley - Surely he has to start next week.

Thank God we haven't got someone like their manager in charge of our team - what a muppett!

We need to show the intensity of the second half throughout the game next week - Looking forward to the season ahead.

McMahon

McSweeney Heffer Blewitt Kerrigan

Abbott Hunter Dormer Hodges (Flack)

Burbridge (BWG) Boot (Wareham)

Game was ill.

First half fairly poor

Bradley introduction provided a fresh impetus as Sudbury were defending very deep and Bradley's pace and skill on the ball unlocked a few more opportunities that and the Sudbury defence looked like soaking up any aireal stuff comfortably and imo should definitely start V Hastings

Sudbury were limited to only a couple of chances which is a plus

Have to agree regarding the corners as they were woeful on a pitch that gave ample space to the corner taker as well

With the heat and the squad already more than likely finalised in terms of who's being kept with last weeks releases it was always fairly likely to be a game played at a low intensity and so it proved
