I would have thought that you would welcome any Barnet fans coming along to swell the gate at your new ground when their team are not at home. At our level of football most clubs need people to watch football and spend a few quid in the bar unless you have a rich sponsor. So many Premiership games are not played on a Saturday at 3pm these days, even more so when the UEFA Cup games start. What wrong with doing both?

Tringarmy - Barnet fans are more than welcome at the Copthall Stadium but you are trying to compare chalk and cheese and it wasn't what I was getting at at all. I'm talking about Forum members who shout about the non league game from the roof tops and their respective Club's, be it Ruislip Manor or Tring Athletic, yet the next thing you know they are at The Emirates Stadium or Stamford Bridge and to do so when their professed non league team are playing, Spidermanor style, is criminal. Another good example was Football Man last season when he went to Chelsea v Valencia when there were lots of attractive non league fixtures that particular evening he could have attended.

so why can't people support more than one club.

We can't all bleed yellow and green yet not go to their games as we are involved with another club.

As for footballman going to Chelsea v Valencia..surely as a football fan he can go to whichever game he wishes on a particular evening.

I'm not disputing the fact that they can't as it's a free Country but if they sign up to supporting the game at our level and adopt a non league Club then surely it's treachery to be seen at a Premiership or League ground particularly if the team you've adopted is playing at the same time. Take Spidermanor and Watford for arguments sake, what does he actually get out of watching The Hornets, surely it is far more satisfying watching Ruislip Manor and enjoying the unique banter at Grosvenor Vale, or Haywood Way on Tuesday, rather than have to endure the pushing and shoving, high prices and snobbery at Vicarage Road as well as the general shortsightedness of league fans.

I can't answer that as I don't know. He might give you an answer himself, maybe you can ask him when next you meet. That's just your opinion though but you make it out like its the norm or at least it should be much like most of what you say on this board. That's why you infuriated so many people enough for them to put you on ignore, because of your narrow minded and bigoted views that you try and insist we should all have.

If Kentish Town are charging a fiver to get in at Copthall they will be lucky to get more then 20 paying custormers for their home matches.

No one in the local area has any affinty with Kentish Town and with Edgware and Hendon / Kingsbury strugleing to get support what makes Kentish Town think they will get their share at Copthall?

They should be doing a lot more in the community to garner new support, and that includes doing a deal with Barnet FC whereby their Season Ticket holders get a discount on KTFC home matches.

I have not seen anything in the local pres about KTFC, what is the point of them being in the Camden New journal when its BARNET they play in!

Lato - Well if that is the case it certainly isn't my intention, I don't think I am narrow minded in the slightest and I think your harsh judgement is made on the basis that you and Spidermanor, and Horace and Football Man for that matter, take yourselves far too seriously. I just thought we all shared one thing in common on here, namely that we're all lovers of the non league game, okay so Spidermanor has been unceremoniously exposed as a closet Watford fan, bleeding yellow and red as opposed to white and black, which is fine but then people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones should they.

...

I was not aware of any such form that fans have to sign before choosing to watch non league football.

I think you will find that 90% of non league fans are fans of other clubs either Prem or Football league, who for whatever reason either no longer go to watch that club, or choose to watch their local side when their league team are away!

You're absolutely right Gavin. Not sure what Rhodes has said as I'm ignoring him, but it is no doubt twaddle! I'm going to see Spurs v Derby County next Saturday, as I never usually get the chance to see the Rams. I shall have to miss Hertford v Cogenhoe in the FA Cup though - no doubt Rhodes would have me publicly flogged for that!

Could be worse. Mr. Burns and Mr. Forrester could have been coming!

Not really a good point - we ought to win against a team like Holmer Green. I am a guest in the former vice-chairman's executive box, so it should be good!

Sorry Horace, I meant a good point for Derby. I guess Hertford would be expecting to beat Holmer Green

I know that you disclosed your intentions a while back but I really thought you would come to your senses nearer the time, how you can miss the crucial Cogenhoe FA Cup tie is beyond me, Spurs v Derby is a nothing match particularly at this early stage of the season.

They may be! League officials tend to turn up unannounced at our games (apart from when they need directions).
